Where do you head first in MK? Thinking about Adventureland

We used to use tp religiously, but we have this park touring thing down so well that we really only reference the touring plans from time to time when decisions have to be made. We've also been so many times that we're under no pressure in terms of missing things.

That said, we've never been in summer so we're back to strategizing. Since we always follow the same pattern, I'm thinking of completely changing things up and starting with Adventureland. The kids are all DEEP into a pirate phase for the first time ever, and Adventureland always ends up being a 1-3pm thing, so it has built up lines and is a little more hot/crowded. Last trip we got into FLE during previews, so no rush to get there.

Are we shooting ourselves in the foot (in terms of wait times in other lands) by starting with Adventureland?

Where do you head after rope drop/entry?

(nervous about this whole summer crowds thing!)

Fantasyland...

grab Peter pan (PP) Fastpass (FP)
enchanted tales with belle
little mermain ride
ariel meet & greet
grab pooh FP
pp with fp
it's a small world
philharmagic
barnstomer
pooh
dumbo
LUNCH

That's pretty much our pattern! It works so well that I hesitate to mess with it. At the same time, we kind of need to shake things up a bit. Hmm...

Others view will vary but our morning plan, first MK morning visit, Adventureland and hasn't varied much over the years... We start with Jungle Cruise, Tiki Birds, POC then to Splash, BTMRR and on to Liberty Square....

We go off season, encounter light crowds and take them one by one.... No FP's at all...

things I am sure are different now with the new fantasy land, but we always go left at the hub. we get thru adventureland with no waits and keep moving around the park in that direction. usually hit fantasy land after lunch and we manage. sometimes lines get alittle long, but they do everywhere in the park, so we just do what we like and are used to.

Right now, alot will depend on the kids, their ages and preferences. If Enchanted Tales with Belle, and Little Mermaid are not a priority (say for young boys), and Peter Pan and Pooh are not a big deal, than there is really no need to go to Fantasyland first.

So, heading towards Splash and Thunder first makes sense....right now.

After the Mine Train opens here in a couple months, it will put more emphasis on Fantasyland.

We always save Fantasyland for late in the evening as we find it's relatively quite after 9pm-10pm (depending on when you're going) We usually head for Adventureland, Frontierland, Liberty Square, cut across to Tomorrowland and then Fantasyland last.

I usually snag FPs for Splash first thing, but have then met the family in AL. Depending on what time of year you're there, AL can be absolutely dead in them morning, which is wonderful. Knock out JC, POTC, TR, and Alladin, and you don't have to go back (unless you want to :))

I am thinking about Adventureland 1st too... my kids don't want to do ETWD, so was thinking start in Adv and run over at some point to get a PP FP with a return time right after lunch instead. We are only planning to do 1/2 MK per day (2 days)

We head left as well. Jungle Cruise, Tiki Birds, POC .. and so on. Seems to work for us. Then we hit all the same rides again as we head out for the night.

Is Adventureland relatively quiet in the mornings, or does it get packed quickly?

We head right, do Buzz about 4x, then DH does Space Mountain, followed by PP, HM and BTMR.

Not sure how FL's expansion is going to affect us since we have early dinner at BOG.

We are creatures of habit. We always hit Tomorrowland first, then Fantasyland and make our way around to Adventureland.

OP here.

Since we got into the new Fantasyland area during previews, we did ETWB and the rest of the area with no waits. We are going to save ETWB for our off-season trips this year.

Since we have always, always done Fantasyland first on every single MK trip, I think we're going to give Adventureland (followed by Frontierland and Liberty Square) a shot. I'm just a little concerned that by the time we're done there, the rest of the park will be deadlocked and we'll get really late FP return times, which will mess with our evening plans/ADR, etc.

In Feb we did Adventure land first. We were at RD. Walked through the tree house, then went back to do Tink. After that we did rest of AL then headed over to BTM (Splash was closed) You get a FP for either of the Mtns real quick before hitting one of the other attractions. We grabbed a FP for PP around 11, then hit up Columbia house for lunch.
We did FL later at night

This is basically how we roll, too. I am surprised so many people head to Adventureland first. I thought we were the only ones since there is hardly anyone else there at RD. We easily walk on most things in Adventureland, Frontierland and Liberty Square and are usually at CHH between 11:30 and 1 (depending if we stop for HoP or not). After lunch, we cut through Fantasyland (usually stopping for a FP along the way) and head over to Tomorrowland before heading back to Fantasyland.

I love touring plans as much as the next person, but I say do whatever your kids want to do first. That approach has never failed us.

We started out our last MK visit with Splash and BTMRR because the kids picked them. Rode each one twice and they had a blast. I still smile thinking about how excited they were to get to pick our first attraction. It's a big deal to them!

you do what you think is best for your Family. At RD, me and my DS instead of walking through MK, we board the first train of the morning and go right to Frontier Land, we ride Splash and BTMR several times or grab a FP with no wait. Then we head to FantasyLand and grab FP to Peter Pan and Winnie the Pooh as they are tough to get on midday or get FP for. We go in August about the third week, the only attractions we have had a hard time getting FP later in the day is Peter Pan actually. POC breaks down a lot and Jungle Cruise will be closed the week we are there, but generally POC you can get on any time of day in August anyway with little wait, not sure when you are going.

I like to start at Space Mountain and then work counter-clockwise.

That said, it sounds like you get to go fairly regularly, so it wouldn't be so big a deal if you didn't catch every single headliner on this trip. And if your kids are really into pirates it might be really, really cool to basically have Adventureland to themselves first thing in the morning.
