Where do you go for a Character Meal?

I'm looking into sending my husband and sons to Medival Times for dinner one night and then thought myself and two other children could go to a character meal. I've never done this, and don't know where you go? Is it on site, or in a disney hotel? I'm planning to stay off site, and have never experience this before, so don't understand how to go about it. There are a number of them, although for dinner (I think) your choices are Goofy's Kitchen in the Disneyland Hotel and Ariel's Grotto inside DCA.

I have heard the food at Goofy's is really good as is the character interaction. Ariel's will be changing to a Princess meal soon, so if your other children are into Princesses that might be a good choice.

You can call up to 60 days before and request perferred seating (like a reservation) for either of these restaurants..

I think either of these would be a great choice! With Ariel's you would have to have tickets into the park for that day... with Goofy's you can just go over to the Disneyland hotel.

If you are looking for a character dinner, your two choices are Goofy's Kitchen at the Disneyland Hotel, and Ariel's Grotto at DCA. Ariel's Grotto is being changed to a Princess themed meal. I prefer Goofy's for better food and character variety, but if your other children love Princesses, Ariel's shoud be considered. Goofy's is a buffet, while you order off a fixed price menu at Ariel's.
Goofy's and Ariel's are both open for lunch as well. There are other breakfast character meal options.

You should definitely make a PS (priority seating; like a reservation) once you decide. Call 714-781-DINE up to 60 days in advance.

Character meals are very fun! I highly recommend them for kids of all ages.

The Grand Californian and Paradise Pier have character meals too. PPH has a Lilo and Stitch breakfast and I think GC has a Chip and Dale breakfast, although I've never been to one of them. We've eaten dinner at Goofy's Kitchen several times. We usually travel with boys (ages 3-12) and everyone in the group loved it.
