Where do you eat meals at home?

Dinner is generally at my dining room table. Breakfast most likely at the island in my kitchen where I can watch the sun rise over the mountains (island has stools to sit at). Lunch often at my desk (assuming that I'm working from home).

I should point out that I live alone and it may be weird to sit at my big dining room table, but, *because* I live alone, I work hard not to fall into the habit of sitting on my sofa eating. Also, my apartment is Haussman style (rooms open off from each other with sliding doors) so I could watch my living room TV from the dining room).

We generally eat diner on TV trays while watching TV. I pretty much only sit at the table to eat a bowl of cereal every now and then.

Late to the party.

My family (me, DH, DS12, DD10) always eat dinner at the dining room table. Breakfast and lunch too. DH and I first started doing this when we got married. It's like a ritual to us I guess. The kids wash their hands and help set the table. We wait until everyone is seated.

There's not even a TV nearby to distract us.

We have a dining room table and a kitchen table. The dining room is only used for parties where we have more people than can fit at the kitchen table. We used to eat at the kitchen table regularly... until my son left for college. Then we kind of moved to "dinner on the couch in front of the TV." Funny thing is that when he comes home, he sits at the table while the rest of us sit on the couch. (His seat at the table does have a good view of the TV though, where the rest of ours don't.)

By myself 99.9% of the time so it's on the couch with the TV on or laptop open.

In a trailer as some may know so not a whole lot of room. I didn't even have a dining room table as it wasn't a high priority but came home to find one by the door. Neighbor bought out someone's place that was moving and wanting everything gone. So he got a ton of kitchen stuff and a table he didn't need.

So now I have a... junk collector, LOL. When the kids are over for a meal, which is rare as we are usually out somewhere and grab a bite to eat, we eat in the living room.

Before I was divorced, we ate most meals at the kitchen table. We didn't have a dining room and had to knock the wall out between the living room and kitchen to fit any kind of table. On occasion we would eat watching TV, usually on the weekends, but the kids and I got home around 4 on weekdays, we would eat at the table, then mom would go to work at 4:30.

I live by myself, so most of the time I eat in front of the TV on the coffee table sitting on the floor. When my boyfriend comes over, we eat at the table.

I eat dinner at the kitchen table. My son is really the only one who will take his dinner elsewhere.

We have a large kitchen... barstools around an island, a main table that seats 6, and a kids table that seats 4. Breakfast is adults on barstools, kids at the kids table. Lunch is kids at the kids table, adults trying to get some chores done. Dinner is everyone at the kitchen table.

Our dining room is used for holidays and birthday parties only.

The only time we eat in front of the TV is if there's a major sporting event that needs to be watched live and we have pizza, wings, or other party food.

My wife and I are empty nesters (most of the time, LOL). Our house is an open design where the great room is open to the kitchen area and a large sitting area for the kitchen table. We also have a decent size island in the kitchen that has three seats under it. We do not have an enclosed formal dining room. From the large sitting area, we have French doors to a rather large deck and a paver patio area. We sometimes eat at the island (never dinner), most times at the kitchen table, and often outside on the deck. What we never do is sit in the living room and eat a meal. We also never watch TV while we are eating. Our meal time is a time of conversation free from the distractions of the TV, cell phones, and social media. I know, old fashion, but that is just how we roll.

I should correct myself. The only time we eat in front of a TV is if we are down in the basement and entertaining friends and shooting pool, or watching something in the home theatre or a game. Then it's usually quick items like someone else mentioned such as pizza, wings, or something like that. However, this is not something we do often or alone. I should also add that being a Cleveland Browns fan the parties are short-lived. Most of the time the games are over before half time. LOL

We eat in our recliners in the family room for the most part. If family or friends are over we will eat at the table.

I eat always at the kitchen table. It's just how I was brought up, not a rule of the house I live in now. Everyone eats mostly with me there for dinner, but for meals other than dinner everyone eats wherever they feel like it. Except for the bedrooms; that is verboten, as it should be.

It depends. 90% at the kitchen island. 5% on the couch/coffee table, 5% dining table.

The house is open plan, with the living room and dining room as one big space. So if I am eating something messy, I eat at the table and if it’s just a sandwich or something like that, I sit in my favorite living room chair with my feet up. Either way, there is a full view of the TV, if I want to watch.

We eat at the kitchen table for the most part when it's just the 2 of us. Every once in a while we'll eat in the living room if I'm home for a quick lunch or he's grabbing a bowl of cereal. If we have company (which is rare) we eat in the dinning room.

We always ate at the kitchen table except holidays when we would eat at the dining room table. Maybe because we have 5 kids and it’s just easier, but we never eat in front of the TV. However, we are almost empty nesters, and when it’s just the 2 of us, we’ve eaten in the living room with finger food, nothing that needs utensils. We have a large kitchen table, it’s sad with just the 2 of us.

Mostly on the couch in front of the TV. If it's a holiday meal and/or we have guests, at the dining table. It collapses to a round 4-seater or expands to seat 10. On the rare occasion that we need to seat more than that, we also have a non-expanding round 4-seater in the adjoining room. But we never eat there normally.

At the dining room table (it's not fancy--we don't have a kitchen table, since it's one of those open concept LR/DR/kitchen type areas from the 90s). Occasionally outside in the backyard. Very rarely in front of the TV, but usually that would be more tv snacks than a meal.

I have a dining table.

It's in my study.

I didn't have a desk. The table took up too much space in my living room.

I eat on the couch.

As I use a knife and fork when I eat, I consider myself civilized.

I have a formal dining room but the table has been my home office since even before covid. We use it for eating maybe five or six times a year, holidays and when guests are here for dinner.

My kitchen is open to the family room. There’s a small table and a counter with stools. DH and I usually eat at the table. When it’s just one of us, mostly at the counter.

And, oh yes, I have a strict rule. No TV while eating dinner.
