Where do you eat for your birthday/celebration

We have an ADR for my birthday at San Angel Inn. I'm a bit worried about it after reading reviews. Thinking of changing it to maybe Narcoossee's? We've never eaten there. Is it child-friendly?

We're eating at Crystal Palace for our youngest son's 3rd birthday celebration.


Where do you like to eat for you birthday/anniversary/special celebrations?

Personally I like so many places at WDW that it would be hard to choose. Probably would either San Angel Inn, Crystal Palace or Whispering Canyon Cafe.

San Angel does get some bad reviews, but I believe it is has a lot to do with people going that don't understand it isn't the tex mex style we are used to here in the states and is more traditional dishes.

Have you looked at the menu to see if there is dishes you would like?
If you have then you should be fine.
All the food we have had has been very good, tasty and flavorful, not bland or ordinary.

I will say that the tables are very close together if that is an issue.
But the atmosphere is one of the best in WDW. It is very romantic. The restaurant is inside, but is set like you are outside next to a small river flowing. Very cool.
The river is actually the boat ride in the pavillion.

All in all you will find good and bad about every restaurant in WDW, I say if the menu appeals to you go see for yourself. It is the only way you will know.

We loved Narcoossee, and there were plenty of children there. It is a quiet restaurant -- very peaceful. They pipe the music in for Wishes and dim the lights -- very nice, but a lot of people stand up outside the restaurant on the dock, so you can't see Wishes that well if someone is in front of you. I really enjoyed the lobster there!

We also enjoyed Cali Grill -- excellent food, fun atmosphere, and again they pipe in the Wishes music and you can enjoy the fireworks.

Can't speak to San Angel Inn because I haven't eaten there, but I think the atmosphere is very nice!

Well, for our daughter's 1st birthday we went to Garden Grill. Besides being her 1st birthday it was her first experience with characters. Everything was perfect! Loved every minute of it. If we were going for our new little one's 1st birthday we would go back here in a heart beat.

If you asked my soon to be 15 year old son, he says Marrakesh or Whispering Canyon. He just loves the food at these restaurants. We have done Chef Mickey's and Crystal Palace on his past birthdays, he preferred Chef Mickey's over Crystal Palace since they did the party every 15 minutes.

My husband would more than likely say his choice would be 'Ohana or Boma and as for me.. I'd probably choose 'Ohana (breakfast) or Garden Grill. For me it wouldn't be a birthday without seeing Mickey.

While we personally loved san angel, the food may not appeal to you.

Another bonus of Narcoosee is you can time it so you are there during WISHES, and watch it from the boat dock Enjoy your birthday!!!!

I have only celebrated 1 birthday in Disney - but my favorite restaurant is 'Ohana - they brought me out a cupcake with a candle - One of my best birthdays yet!

In Jan we will celebrate my birthday at the Hoop De Doo.

Well in may we...

started with Breakfast at Kona Cafe

had lunch at Liberty Tree in MK

had dinner at Narcoosees and watched the fireworks (terrible experience)

My b day and our anniv. is the same day. Next year I might make them 2 seperate celebration days.

Went for the 1st time in May and Loved the food there glad I took a chance and tried it it is kid friendly I went with both my DD's had a really nice time, but for my DH Birthday we went to Cape May we also LOVED it but we are seafood lovers

Last year we celebrated our anniversary at Artist Point. They had the menus printed with Happy Anniversary Mr and Mrs Raspus. During the meal they gave each of us a glass of champagne with a raspberry floating in it. It was a very nice meal. We really enjoyed it.

We had a lot of fun celebrating my birthday at the 50's Prime Time Cafe. Really fun - lots of singing, a card signed by everyone in our section of the restaurant and of course, the cupcake!

It was a lot of fun for the kids too.

I have been to Narcoossees and there were plenty of children there. You pretty much are going to find oodles of kids at every WDW restaurant, except perhaps V&A.

We have only celebrated a birthday twice when at WDW, and both times it was my DHs birthday. One year we celebrated at 50's Prime Time, and it was fun and kitshy. In 1/09, we celebrated at CG. We were seated in the wine room, and had a fabulous multi-course meal. My DS, when he was 3, could have never handled such a drawn out meal but my little one is no longer little, at 17, and a two hour meal is just fine.

I think wherever you decide to celebrate your dinner, you will have a great time!

We celebrate at California Grill. We'll be there on August 5 for my big 5-0!!!

I'm having dinner at Le Cellier on my 28th birthday in November and doing a breakfast at Kona as well

My roommate has his birthday 4 days before we leave and Tusker House Breakfast is his dinner

My other roommate's never been and her two special meals is Lunch at 50's Prime Time Cafe and Dinner at 'Ohana (not the same day)

We also have ADR at Yachtsmen Steakhouse for the "2 Birthday, 1 first time, No adults fancy dinner" as well

I just celebrated my birthday at Narcoosies last October. It was wonderful. We all dressed up. No trouble with Kids..they were 2 & 6 at the time. My DH had notified them prior and I had a customized menu and got my pick of dessert on the house decorated with candles. Very nice.
