Where do you eat during festivals?

Since there is no walk & snack right now, does each booth have a designated eating area? Is it easy or hard to get a table?

nothing beats eating on a trash can! It’s kind of a tradition.

Sorry... what?

Do you sit on it? Hover in a group around it? Does it actually hold garbage? I am so confused by this concept.

There are lots of standing tables (currently socially distanced) near the food booths. You can also sit on the park benches around the park.

It's not really a sit to eat kinda thing. They are small-ish portions so you get it and stand off to the side and eat it. They have bistro tables everywhere and put more than usual out this past year during covid. No chairs with the tables so you stand and eat. There are benches here and there and cement garden walls and whatnot to sit on. And, yes, many folks stand by the trash cans and set stuff on top while they eat. I do it. Mostly set drink and sunglasses and passport booklet thingy while holding food plate and eating.

There was an indoor area in the Odyssesy center, I think it's called, that has tons of the tables and AC. But last fall they didn't have it open I don't think. Over the holidays, for that festival, they had a big building open between 2 countries (can't recall) and had a couple booths in there and lots of space to hang. They had a band playing holiday music too.

Adding to above...yes, it is called Odyssey center and is that odd shaped building on the water leaving Mexico and heading to Test Track. They usually have a booth (craft beer and food) in there with a bunch of tables and AC and even a little shop of festival souvenirs.

For the Holiday festival they had the World Showplace Pavillion with a few booths and a band and little shop and AC. It is next to Canada and behind a big gate that they open for the festival.

Yep. Stand around it and put your food/drink on top. It’s a running joke in our family. I even have thought of having shirts made that say “Disney Food & Wine Festival” on front and “Eating on a trash can since 2004” (our first FWF) on back.

There are a few areas that do have picnic tables and benches, one I can think of is around America. They put out many more tables this year, as other's have said standing bistro tables that maybe 4 or 5 people can stand around, except some of the one's in Festival Center are not that big. As others have said, there are benches scattered around, curbs you can sit on and I've seen some people pop a squat on the ground (I would never be able to get back up). We have never eaten on the top of a trash can, even when there were fewer tables, we could always find a curb to sit on, a table to stand at or a bench to sit on or even a wall to prop against. Just carry your plate to wherever you are going to eat, take your mask off and enjoy then put the mask back on. I'll also add we never walked around while eating things from the booths before Covid, always found some place to stand or sit because most of it does need to be eaten with a fork and sometimes requires a knife. We did walk around sipping the drinks but now just find a corner to tuck in away from people and drop the mask.

My sister and I have a running joke about eating on trash cans in Disneyland after seeing it (okay, and doing it) a few times. It's free real estate! She will be glad to know that it's not just us, and it's not just DL!

If they are still social distancing, tables will be fewer for upcoming festivals. For F&W, Holiday and Arts, tables were scattered far apart, so you might have been lucky to get a table. Plus most of the time smaller groups are willing to share a table with other smaller groups (the two of us often have done that in the past). But with the virus, nobody was sharing. Sometimes the top of the garbage can was the best you could do.
