Since i am going to have a 4 and 6 year old with me, i figured on this trip, i may in fact want to have a lanyard. I see them on the disneystore.com site for $25. Anywhere else cheaper?

DCl sells lanyards in th terminal and on board. I bought DCL logo and it was approx. $8.50 plus tax.

If you buy the lanyard at the little stand in the terminal you will pay tax. If you buy it on the ship there is no tax.

Bought mine on the ship on the first night...somewhere around $8.00 or $9.00 I think. I hear you can get them cheaper elsewhere before the cruise. Ebay perhaps or dollar store if you don't want Disney ones.

Have you sailed with Disney before? If so, you are a Castaway Club member and will receive complimentary lanyards at check-in (one per repeat cruiser).

Just drive past the port a mile or so and there is Ron-Jons surf store... We picked up a slimline design, waterproof container (holds the key card, ID, and a wad of singles for tipping/taxi cash)...just put it around your neck and your good in the hot tub, ocean, pool, land and sea! Cost is $2.95!

You do not have to worry about leaving stuff out on the beach or at the pools... :scared1:

i knew that people would know! Walmart seems like a good deal. I did look on ebay and might get the girls the princess ones, but really, would they even keep it on? I am thinking that i will be the ultimate holder of theirs...

We got one for each of us and the kids did not wear them. I think unless they have charging priviledges they probably wont. We just put their cards in our lanyards for leaving the ship. We do need to get one of those waterproof containers for this cruise.

We got our lanyards on ebay. We had a choice of the design and paid less than $6 for each, quick shipping and a great product. Good luck!

I meant to bring my 'Who Wants to be a Millionaire - Play It!' lanyard, but forgot, so I bought one in the terminal. If I knew that tax was charged, I would have waited till I got on board.

I won't have to worry about that next time, though -- Castaway Club lanyard!

You can order them from Disneycruise.com (in the area that you order the gifts and decorations that will be waiting in your room for you).

I think it said 6.50 if your order that way. And then you get a certificate in your room that you bring up to the gift shop and get your lanyard that way.

If you pre-order it online to have a certificate waiting in your cabin you will be charged the 6½% sales tax. Then you won't be able to pick it up from the gift shop which won't be open until 6:00.

Good to know.
6.5% sales tax is still better than 8.50 on board (I think thats what people were saying it was?)

I didn't know about the shops not being open until 6pm though. But I don't think I'd mind waiting a bit to get them.

I was thinking of doing the preorder for both the lanyards and some DCL water bottles to surprise everyone with when we get there. Does anyone know if they can have the actual item (and not just a certificate) waiting for you in the room if you request it? I know it said something like $1 charge to have items delivered, but not sure when that would be?
