Where do you bank, and are you happy with them?

We've been with Wachovia for a long time. Free checking is great. We used bank before that seemed to have service fees for everything.

We bank with a credit union and are VERY happy.

Commerce, Commerce, Commerce. I can't say enough about them. Open every day of the week (and I do mean walk-in-not just drive-thru). Free checking with $100 minimum balance. Great on-line banking as well. And they're everywhere!(At least here in SJ)

Used to have Commerce, but switched to Citizens Bank when they came to my work...I have free checking for life as long as I have direct deposit, which seemed pretty good to me! Checks aren't bad, about 15....they have drive thru atms too, which makes it easy for me to tap mac in the mornings when I dont want to get out of the car...so far, I have been pretty pleased with them!

Credit Union. VERY happy with their services.:D

TC:cool:

Wachovia and we're pretty happy. They haven't sent us one check card.

Bank of America which has free checking, free cashiers checks, and free checks for Advantage members. I believe you can qualify for Advantage by having a certain amount in your account or by being over 55.

we belong to a credit union and we aren't thrilled, but we aren't miserable either.

We bank with USAA Federal Savings Bank. We love them. Can't say enough about them. If there are any other military families who bank with them on the DIS, I'm quite sure they would say the same. :)

Bank of America and LOVE them. Free online banking and free checking and they linked our savings to checking for overdrafts without any fee.

We had Wachovia and they were awful!! We ended up with 300 dollars in overdraft charges in January that they said stemmed from using our debit card to get gas. We took a screen print of our online accounting showing we always had available funds and that we had X amount of money in the account and spent X amount of money and what we spent was less than what we had by about 200 dollars. They didn't credit our amounts back, they said that the way things posted, that charges came in when funds were unavailable because they held X amount of money when I ran the debit card for gas. They also charged us an overdraft when we used our debit card to pay at a restaurant and put a tip on the card. They charged us both the total amount and the meal amount and then bounced the tip amount because they said their computers aren't able to match up the transactions.

My DH is a software designer and Wachovia is one of his clients. When the csr told him at Wachovia that "a computer can only do what you tell it" my DH explained that HE is the one that tells the computers what to do and HE did tell the computers how to match transaction id numbers. Basically, what the csr stated was that when you use your debit card at a restaurant and put a tip on it, the bank will hold the tip amount, the meal amount AND the entire amount charged and wait until the tip and meal amount charges drop off, then they will release the hold on the money. If you have other charges come through while they're holding that money, they will pay the charges but then hit you with the 30 dollar NSF fee. After a conference call with Wachovia, one of his new employees told him that she used to work for Wachovia and that was standard practice there. She also said that if you complained about it and didn't get the NSF charges credited back to you, to keep calling because you had just so many times per month you could credit accounts and once you passed that you would be written up for giving account credits.

C&S, then Bank South bought them, then NationsBank bought Bank South, then Bank of America bought NationsBank.

Next year, BANK OF THE UNIVERSE! :p

Commerce Bank--No complaints. Love that they are open on Sunday.

Bank of America for the past 15 years. I love the fact that they now have ATMs almost everywhere in the US (no fees).

I am one that prefers to do all of my business by ATM but if you do like to go inside then it also matters what branch you use.

Here in Arkansas where I am now there are two BofA branches that are about equidistant from my home. At one of them they are rude and just awful. At the other one they go out of their way to be nice - could not have better service.

BofA bought out a long time bank here and I think the tellers at the rude branch still can't adjust to the fact that they are now part of BofA. My account is still with the CA arm of BofA and I think that's why they are so rude to me.

I banked with Wells Fargo for a short while in CA and hated the bank. Later in my work I had to deal with them as clients and I did not respect the way they treated people.

Michigan State University Federal Credit Union.

We are very pleased :)

We bank with USAA Federal Savings Bank. We love it. I have never been inside one of the branches! LOL :Pinkbounc :bounce:

I bank with Wachovia. They're awesome! Free checking and check cards are wonderful :) My bf recently switched to Wachovia from Bank of America because they were charging him for EVERYTHING!! Goodness!
