I need some assistance from other parents who have made the trek to Disney for any Cheerleading competition. My daughter's team is going in March and we've been given several options to choose from, regarding packages and such. First of all, what is a "Park Hopper Pass" and why does it cost so much ($155)? If we arrive on Thursday, the team has practice on Friday afternoon, the competition is on Saturday and Sunday, and we leave Monday...do I have to pay for admission to all of the parks when i doubt if we even get to spend five hours total in any of them? The competition is being held at the "Wide World of Sports" - is that one of the Disney parks as well? Doesn't the monorail connect all of the Disney parks?
Call me one confused Dad - anyone who can shed some light on their own experiences for me or who can answer a question or two, please tell me. I'd greatly appreciate it!
Welcome Juice! I am not a parent, but I think I can answer a few of your questions.
1) A park hopper pass is a pass which allows you to enter more than one of the 4 Disney parks in the same day. If you are being offered one that costs $155, I would say that it is probably a 3-day pass.
Disney passes must be used within 14 days of the first use, so if you go into the parks on Thursday, that uses one day of the pass, and you have 14 days to use the other 2 days. You can also pay an extra fee to make the pass non-expiring, so that if you don't use all 3 days of it, the unused days never expire.
Disney tickets can be very confusing. I recommend that you read this excellent guide to get some more insight into the way they work:

2)Disney's Wide World of Sports complex is a sports complex on Disney property that hosts all sorts of sporting events. It is not one of the Disney theme parks, but it is part of Walt Disney World.
3)The monorail does not run everywhere on Disney property. There are two lines - one line connects the Magic Kingdom park with 3 resorts and the parking lot, and the other line connects Magic Kingdom with Epcot. However, you can get from anywhere to anywhere on Disney property using the bus system, so all you need to do to get to the Wide World of Sports is catch a bus from your hotel.
I hope I've cleared up a little of your confusion. Don't hesitate to ask anything else you might think of.
