Where do I start?

I am getting married on a disney cruise in October 2017. We have started thinking about trying to do a couple parks before and after the cruise. We want to try to do Universal the weekend before the cruise and Magic Kingdom after the cruise. We figured we are already down there we might as well spend a couple extra days.

Just wanting to get any advice anyone is willing to give me Looking at where to start planning or any helpful tips or suggestions.

One caution: Express Pass front-of-line access does not apply to the two main Harry Potter rides (Forbidden Journey and Gringotts), or to the Hogwarts Express.
