Hi
1st thing I would decide is which parks you want to visit, do you want to do a Disney holiday or incl the Universal parks, Sea World, Busch, Kennedy etc etc.
When you know roughly how many park days you need write a rough itinery, there are sites which recommend which are best days to visit although not perfect they can help.
Have you booked hotel yet or just flights?
What dates you going?
Main thing ask lots of questions on here.
Have fun planning

Hiya

Congrats on the upcoming holiday you must be so excited.

First of all take Waynes advice. Find out where and how long you want to visit the parks. Where you want to eat i.e disney resturants (you will need to make reservations for these especially for August.)Are there any special advents you want to go to i.e Princess and Pirate Party in August.

Have a look on allears.net. It will give you the resturants menu, hotel info, park info, advent info etc....

Once you have planned your parks the itinery comes into place. Now there are sites that you can go on that will allow you the information on days that are recommended. Also get the Brits Guide to Orlando written by Simon Verness. Excellent book and is the as Isay Orlando bible.

Anymore questions fire away. :)

Be careful not to plan too much, you can't do everything in one trip without killing yourself. If you plan to be in a park all day everyday within a week you will be totally parked out so make sure you plan a few rest and waterpark days.

As it will be very hot in August the best thing to do is get there at opening times and then leave in the afternoon and have a swim at your hotel.

Happy planning!!

Don't forget about shopping days as well, those Malls are hard to resist!

Allears.net will give you the park opening times, special events and fireworks etc.. use this to start off with to get an idea of what parks on what days. A useful tip we found was that if MK closes early for an event (i.e Pirates and Princess') the park will be less busy as people tend to want to spend the whole day and night there. If you are on DDP, look at places to eat and menus and slot these into your day. Use the waterparks/DisneyQuest as your rest days. We planned every day last year and made loads of ADR's that I was a little concerned it would be too structured, but it was excellent and I would do the same again. We made a spreadsheet on Excel and when all the tweaking was done (two days before we left) printed it, laminated it and stuck it on our room door.

Definately get yourself a Brits Guide or something similar and start researching. This will give you a good idea of which parks will be right for you. Ynce you've got your "must do parks / experiences" in mind you can start realistically thinking about how much time you will need for each and an itinerary should start to form!
