Hi,

the family and I are heading to WDW in 2011. As we're from the UK we are deprived of good beef.....so one simple question...........

Where do we get the best steaks in WDW?

Thanks, Tim

We've not found any place in the parks, but in the resort hotels - Artist Point in the Wilderness Lodge, and believe it or not, Narcoosee's over in the Grand Floridian. Actually, thinking about it, Chefs de France in Epcot does serve a pretty good steak. Good luck!

Honestly? Go off property to Morton's Steakhouse, Ruth's Chris Steakhouse or the Palm at Universal.

I haven't found a steak at WDW that is worth the price yet and I've been to all the majors I believe.

I'd say the best steak is the char crusted NY strip at Flying Fish.

In fact, it's so good that my wife is the one who made me post this. She lurks and doesn't post, but told me I had to represent the steak, as I've had it every time we've been there. :thumbsup2

Tim, as much as I hate to say it, for the very best steak, you should try Ruth's Chris or Morton's. You can get a good steak at some WDW eateries, but if you're traveling across the pond and wanting an example of an excellent steak, you'll need to venture off property. Note: Victoria & Alberts may be an exception, but it's tremendously pricey and it's not just a giant slab of red meat(which you can get at other places).

WDW is populated with many fun places to dine, I'm just pointing you in the direction of some truly exemplary red meat. (If you have a car and the time, try Bern's steakhouse in Tampa. One of the finest places for steak in the U.S.):)

I had a 32 oz prime rib at Shula's in January. With a potato about the size of my head and a glass of fabulous merlot.

I ate the entire thing. And I am a small-ish woman. They were impressed. :lmao:

On property, I'd have to agree that it's probably Shula's, but Flying Fish's steak has also been delicious in the past.

I agree with those who suggest getting off site to a Morton's, Flemming's, Palm or Ruth's Chris if you're truly seeking out a giant slab of prime beef.

Me & DH had great steaks at Yachtsman Steak House last year. DH had the 24 oz porter house and I had the 16 oz Oak-Fired Ribeye. Oh, and their Truffle Mac and Cheese was YUMMO!!

I've heard great things about Mortons and Ruth Chris. I believe you can book reservations online for them on opentable.com

On property, sort of, Shula's. I prefer to go off property to Charley's. Have a location just across the street from Celebration. So good, reasonably priced, and casual as well. No where near as pricey as Ruth's Chris or morton's, or Shulas.

I agree with Shulas, best on property, followed by Chef's de France.

If I had to choose one place for steak at Disney, I'd actually pick 2. If you are in the mood for 'nice steakhouse' atmosphere, I like Yachtsman. This was the place I found out that I do, actually, like meat. I ordered a NY strip after asking my husband what kind of steak wouldn't gross me out (I hate fat). I ordered it med-well to keep the waiter from crying when I asked him to burn it. It came out cooked exactly as I had asked and it turned out that I really liked it. I ate steak everywhere else we went. It is a little pricey (if you are paying out of pocket or if you are on the DDP it is 2 meal credits), but I found that it was worth it.
If you are looking for the best steak at the best price on Disney property, I'd suggest Le Cellier. I have had the NY strip there and also the filet. I'd put the NY strip almost as good as the one I had at Yachtsman and it only cost me one meal credit on the DDP. I have never had a bad steak at Le Cellier and we have eaten there 3 different trips.
Good luck on your steak quest.

Ruth's Chris is an incredibly overrated steak. Don't know if it's better than what WDW has to offer, but there are a ton of better options off site. There is a Capital Grille in Orlando. That's a great steak.

On property paying OOP, I'd have to say Shula's; if you're on the dining plan, I'd go with Yachtsman. For one dining credit, Le Cellier & Les Chefs are good, but not true "steakhouse" quality, IMO.

in disney shulas, everyone that says lecellier is great has never been to a real steakhouse in my opinon, lecellier is on par with outback, longhorn, tex roadhouse, for us we always go to charleys, del frisco, ruth chris, the palm, about 10 years ago my brother would say le cellier is the best steak until one trip we got him to go to charleys and hes never been back to le cellier since

For Prime Rib....LeCellier. THey dont' mess with the meat to much and it isn't over spiced. Very good and tender.

For a good Ribeye, Whispering Canyon Cafe at WL has an awesome one. I love that steak and I am a beef eater! So good, every time we go I have to have that steak.
