Where do I find taxi to get back to Universal hotel from WDW

I'm trying to finalize my upcoming Columbus Day weekend Orlando trip. Here's what I'm thinking of:

Arriving Thursday (10/4) early afternoon and check into our Universal hotel. Head over to WDW to do their Halloween party; I believe we can get in at 4pm. Get a 3 day + W/W pass and do Universal parks Friday-Monday with one day for W/W in there. Fly home on Tuesday.

So, what is the best way to get to WDW for the Halloween party? I started reading the sticky on the top of this page, but I didn't get too far. It seems to be more for people staying at WDW and heading to Universal for a day.

I'm guessing I would get a taxi to WDW at my Universal hotel? But where do I find a taxi leaving MK after the Halloween party that late at night?

Also, with the Studios closing early a couple of days for the HHN, do you think I should get the 2 park pass? Or do you think 1 park/day pass is good enough?

TIA!

You can get a cab at any of the onsite hotels...they will probably take you to the TTC for MNSSHP. I don't know if the cabs run all the way to the MK or not but if they do, just plan on picking one up to return to Universal.

I wouldn't do both parks in a single day but if you're staying onsite, you'll have unlimited Express that will help with the lines. You can always purchase the one day ticket and upgrade if you wanted to return for a second day.

Unless they've changed things, expect the normal parking fee to be tacked onto your taxi fare if you ask for drop off anywhere there's a fee for parking, even Ticket and Transportation center. The taxis have to pay just like a regular visitor even though they're just passing through, and they tack that charge to your fare. We were unpleasantly surprised by that on a taxi trip over to Animal Kingdom one year. It might be better (cheaper) to have the taxi drop you off at a monorail hotel and take that over to the party.

Good point.

On my last visit to PBH, they just had town cars at the Loews hotels and not taxis. You have to have them call a taxi for you.

The taxi drivers know where to drop you off if you tell them you don't want to pay the drop off fee. Make sure you let them know.

The simplest thing to do is probably to plug Mears' number (407-422-2222) into your cell phone and call dispatch as you are leaving the MK.

Ask for the cab to pick you up in front of the CR, and just walk over; it is only about 500 yards.

Thanks everyone!

Do you know approximately how much a cab will cost?
