Where do I find information about government employee discounts?

I was asking my mom about her government employee discount for Disney and she didn't know anything about it. She asked me if I could find the info on the internet for her, but I have no clue where to start.

I'm sure someone here can help me out!

Well, some hotels offer govt rates (not Disney) but the biggest discounts are for Dept of Defense govt workers. If you work for DoD, you are eligible for the Shades of Green resort (hotel onsite near Magic Kingdom) and Shades also sells discounted WDW passes. I will say however that our local base ticket office sells the passes for $10 less than Shades.

You can try www.unionplus.org If she is an employee of state, county or municipal branch she can get some discounts to some parks, but I don't believe Disney is one of them. Good luck--hope this helps.

Our experiecne is that the Shades of Green passes only save you the tax (we've only purchased APs through them).

Swan and Dolphin has room discounts available at times for govt. employees. They do ask for id at check in. We have taken advantage of this twice.

My hubby is a Fed. employee, and for years we didn't realize we could get discounts on hotels (duh!) In the past we've gotten the Dolphin for as low as $129. Check the larger hotel chains (non-Disney) for govt. employee discounts, usually you'll get great rates. Two hotels that are part of our summer vacation are a Country Inns and Suites on the drive down to Disney for $60, and after a week in Disney we're staying at the Hilton Oceanfront on Hilton Head in July for $122/night, almost 1/2 off the best rate!
Don't forget I.D., as they usually ask for it...
