Okay, I decided I am going to take my daughter (6) and niece (13) to Disney next Aug/Sept. This will only be my 2nd time going (I went when I was 20, back in 95). I don't even know where to begin. Usually my family vacations involve my mother as well, since she pays! :p Any other trip I have taken have been all-out, money isn't a problem, adults only. Well, not this time. We are gonna go for 6 days, 5 nights (somewhat flexible). I am definitely NOT keen on staying at the moderate resorts b/c of the price. I like the price of the value resorts, but not sure what they are really like..they sound BARE minimum. What I'm looking for is a nice, comfortable hotel, as well as park-hopper tickets for the three of us, all at a reasonable price. I priced a package on disney.com and came up with ~$1400 for the three of us for Sept 8-13, 2004. That's not too bad, b/c I have reached out to my brother and my dad to help with the costs...but if I can do better, of course I'd rather. And I'm not looking to trade the total cost of hotel & tickets for spending the difference in parking and getting to/fro each day w/driving. Have I confused everyone as much as myself??? Help would be greatly appreciated!! :D

Hopefully there will be some type of code discount you can use at that time. It should bring the values down to $50-60 a night, or so. Park hoppers are the biggest expense. Maybe start an envelope and put away a little bit every week? There are probably lots of tips on the budget board. :)

Go to www.mousesavers.com and read the suggestions on Walt Disney World Resort. Also, look at the historical codes for the time period that you are considering. It's full of very helpful suggestions. The new Pop Century sounds really nice and it is a value.

Where do I find the codes at so I can check them out?

Go HERE to find out more info about codes. As mentioned by honeymom, check for the historical dates on codes so you can see what's coming out at the time you want to visit. That will help you out a lot. Here's THE LINK for the historical info.

Hope I've helped.
