Where do cats hide? UPDATE: post 27

One of my bookcases has a 4½ inch clearance between the top of the bottom shelf books and the bottom of the next shelf up. One of my two cats will climb over the books and sleep behind them, and will not disturb the books when climbing either in or out.

Make sure it's not in the refrigerator or closets.

We worry about the freezer. Bottom pull out freezer. The bottom drawer pulls out with the door and if standing on one side, the cat can meander her way in on the other side us seeing her.

That certainly wouldn't be good.

Also we have a front load washer that we leave the door open. Always have to check for the cat before doing laundry. Never saw her go in it though. The dryer is always closed, so that is more likely for her to go in but she can't.

We just bought a new refrigerator and that is one of the reasons I decided against one with the freezer on the bottom.

We leave our front load washer door open all the time too. I've never even thought about her getting in there. Guess I should make sure everyone checks before they do laundry.

DH has a bad habit of leaving the dryer door open. I've seen my cat get in there, but she always comes right back out.

My cat has a place he goes that nobody knows...he's gone...then he's back. When it damn well pleases him, lol.

My cats favourite hiding space that took me ages to figure out is the dinning room chairs. When they are pushed in under the table there is no way to see him. Add the table cloth and he is completely covered. I have run through the dining room, countless times looking for him, probably with him watching me the whole time holding out for the good stuff. We only discovered it as his hiding spot when I pulled a chair out to sit down and there he was.
