Where did you see World of Color? Rate your section!

If you want a front rail spot in the center Wet Zone area you don’t have to limit yourself to only getting Red FPs -- Yellow FPs would also be good.

This is not quite true, the Blue & Green sections also get front center (or close to it), as does the Orange section for the third show.
Red and Yellow FPs will give you the opportunity to stand at the front rail in the center Wet Zone area.

You can get a very good view at the front rail in the Preferred Dining section (or Blue FP for the 11:15pm show), but we were talking about the Wet Zone.

FYI, here are three of the latest WOC Viewing Charts:

Those charts are not at all accurate, they are missing the orange zone completely (it is still on the bridge for the first two shows, at least it was LAST NIGHT!).

Blue has front rail sections in the wet zone for the first two performances. At least they were last night.

I don't know how things are lately, but I'd say that first professional looking diagram is about right. Didn't even know there were orange FP's. Is that new??

We stood at the railing in B2, right behind B1. I would consider our view to be good.

Very nice with the WoC chart. S.S. Columbia and Disneyland 1951. I was just there last night and I used your chart to get the view that I wanted to see. We were in the B2 area and on the other chart we were in the 2nd best part of the blue area.

This is also I'm still puzzled since last night. I read your report that the CMs organized the area where they have a line for each different FP tickets right next to WCT. I took your advice and was waiting to get in front of the line, but they had the barricades right next to the light tower. And all the guests that had FPs for the 9 pm show had to wait right at the barricades instead of different color lines. Is it just me or they are doing the same thing during opening week for WoC. They let everyone in at 7:45 and it was chaos. Luckily I got their first and got the spot I wanted.

So if I have a preferred FP (from dinner at Ariel's), I want to be in the corner of D1 or D5 but not D3? Why is D3 (labeled with a B for bad) not a good place to be?

Ugh! The more information that comes in the more confusing it is!

S.S. Columbia, thank you for your excellent drawings of the area. I wish we had that at the beginning of this thread so people could give an exact location of where they stood.

They only used the 3 color line up for a few days late in July.

Since then they returned to the mob line up at the Tower in plaza. Sorry for the mixup, I did post a retraction, sorry you missed this.:headache:

Why is D3 not the best.
1) The view the towards the center is blocked by the people in D2 who are on the same level. To see the entire right side you will be behind about 50 people in D2 at the same level.
2) Also, on the same level is a 3' high structure with two large globes blocking your view. And, when it is crowded people sit on the structure further blocking the view. :surfweb: If you move over next to the Handicapped section you will be all right, but further off the centerline.

You are much better going up to the next level, it tends to not fill in early! and is an unobstricted view from the exact center. (This is where the final programming was done, and is just below the VIP section.):yay:

1) Where you saw the show from

Right at the front (not the boardwalk part though) in the section to the right of the big circle part... if that makes any sense lol. In the previous pics it was the yellow section.

2) Whether it was a fastpass, picnic or preferred dining area

None of the above... won tickets to a private party to preview it a few nights before it actually opened :)

3) What color your section was the night you saw the show (and the other sections if you know)

They weren't colored... see above.

4) Where you lined up for your section

Behind the aisle to the right of the section (when looking at the water). Again though, since this was a private party, I can't say this is how it works now.

5) Whether you got soaked, a little wet or stayed dry

A little wet. It was a little windy and cooold. It was like a light misty rain the whole way through.

6) How the view was, would you watch it from there again?

Really really good! In a heartbeat!

Its np, it would have been nice if they did the 3 color line up for the show, but still we still got the best view from the B2 area on the chart that S.S. Columbia has set up. Thanks to your chart. I was also at that same spot during the opening night of WoC on June 11, but there were people in front of me that night and this time we got the railing view.

Saw WOC tonight - August 18. 9:00 Show.

We got blue FPs at around 9:20 a.m. (via GCH entrance.) We then picked up our picnic meals (we had ordered these previously, the others we got for the two other people in our group) around 12:15 and got yellow FPs. Around 7:00 we went and talked to the CM in front of the blue section and he went ahead and changed our yellow passes to blue so we could all be together. :)

We stood on the railing about a third of the way down in what is marked as
B7 on crazycoasterrider's map. It was a fantastic view. I would definitely watch from there again. (If you watch from here just make sure you go down far enough that you are past the trellises or they will obstruct your view somewhat.)

At about 7:15 the CMs put the barricades up near Little Mermaid and there was a big mob behind them. We were right at the front. At 7:45 they opened up the barricades and the mob went stampeding to the entry point for their color. (Red FP holders were lined up at the other end, by Golden Zephyr, and preferred dining were somewhere else, so this was just blue and yellow.) There wasn't a whole lot of control - I'm guessing one could have easily gotten in without a FP at all - it looked difficult for them to check FPs as people went whizzing by.

Our plan was to try to get the secret spot on Disneyland 1951's map, but that was roped off and we were told it was part of the VIP area. Our second choice was B6 on crazycoaster's map but we were told that was for preferred dining. ?? (This made no sense, I think that CM was wrong - this was the walkway where all the blue FPs entered!) I think we actually had a better view from where we were than the B6 area, though, because it had a bit of added height. The problem is that even my DD (6, average height) was too short to see over the railing. We had to hold both kids even though we were right on the railing. Ouch.

The show was great but the 2 hours of waiting was a little ridiculous. I think once it's been around for a while it will be nice to watch without having to arrive super early and endure a stampede!

Question Question!

So we always get GOLDEN fastpasses whenever we are at disneyland, which are fastpasses for every ride and cannot ever be taken. Ex: you can go on space mountain 5 times through the fast pass line then go strait to indy and go through fastpass line. So would these passes also work for WOC? Where would we be seated? :confused3 Thanks for any help!

Last wednesday I was in Y5 according to the map provided here and I was on preferred seating dinning plan. I got there at 8:15 and was dead center right near the railing. Yes, I did get wet and was surprised by it. The mist from the water screen nailed the whole section. Still it was a beautiful show and I'm glad I had a chance to see it. Beautiful and awesome at the same time. Everyone applauded after it was done.

Golden fastpass? I know that five years ago they had the special fastpasses for the 50th anniversary that some people were lucky enough to win. Is that what you mean?

In that case, if you are with a celebrity or political VIP who is using a "golden ticket," I would imagine that Disney would seat you in the VIP area of WOC without the need for a fastpass at all. :goodvibes If you look at the map a few posts up on this thread, you'll see the (ahem) golden/orange seating area just behind the green D5 section which is labeled VIP.

Yes yes these! So that would count as the orange area? I'm very excitd to see the show but I want good seats. Thanks!

I don't know enough about these special fastpasses to know if they "count" as an orange area. I'm just guessing that if you are in a group that's able to access one of these special tickets that are reserved for celebrities, politicians, and other people who need to be able to reserve anonymity by by-passing lines, that your group would also be able to request to have your name put on the list by senior management to sit in the VIP section. Does that make sense?

Yes it does make sense. I may call to find out about it. But my family is the ones with the passes, we dont walk with others who carry the passes. So I will have to check. Thanks for the help!

I finally got some photos uploaded. Here is the view from the bridge:

Here are a couple of shots looking down at Paradise Park.

Hopefully it gives a feel for the area as it was filling up. These was taken not long after we secured our spot so it would have been around 8 pm or so.

We went to the 17th August show...

We got Red zone fast passes for the 9pm show

We did not line up early going in to the area at about 820pm... we went straight to the Red Zone wet zone and our first spot was off to the left and not very good...

By walking further down towards the very front we ended up with a spot at the very front and dead centre... When we had first arrived they were filling up areas by only sending people down the viewing areas rather than letting them access the area down the walking path... As we had come a little later we were allowed to go down the walking path and fill in the gaps of which there were plenty...

We had a perfect view with no obstructions, we did not get wet at all, just a light misting (no wind)
