Hey girls, I love popping in here and marveling at all the pretty dresses and dreaming of marrying in Walt Disney World :lovestruc Though I'm 24 and still single, I have the most horrible time meeting guys. I honestly don't know where people meet these days. So enlighten me, where did you meet your DF?

OK, well, you aren't going to like my story because it means you have to go all the way to Disneyland if you want to replicate my experience... :cutie:

I was in line at Big Thunder Mountain and made a wish on a nickel at the pond. I wished to meet a guy who liked Disneyland and was straight. That night I got talked into going to the birthday party of a childhood friend I hadn't seen in a while, and I met his cousin.

On our first date, as the lights were about to go down on our second movie of the night, The Cousin casually mentioned that he had a Disneyland Annual Pass. I was like, "Wait - wha...?!!" and then had to wait 2 hours to talk about it!

...Next time I go on Big Thunder Mountain, I'm wishing for a Ferrari!:rotfl:

I had just about given up that there were any good single men left. My cousin's husband asked if I would go out on a blind date and trust him, I said what the heck why not at this point, 10 months later we were married... Happily Ever After!

Work...He was supposed to be my field training officer (FTO) and I told the training supervisor after looking at his pic that he "looked scary and how could I trust my life with him if I didn't know him."

I officially met him in person while in uniform while I was with a different FTO in front of a bagel shop. Thought he was kind of cute. We became friends over the next year and a half. Shortly after we started dating and have been together ever since.

Now, I wouldn't trust my life in anyone's hands but his! :goodvibes

We actually met in a speech class during our freshman year of college at the University of Michigan. He asked me out after class and I turned him down :rotfl: A couple days later when I went for an interview with Student Government he was there again. Anyway, we started talking and after a few more attempts I eventually agreed to go out and the rest is history :goodvibes

I met my husband while hitchhiking. I had no choice. I lived in a town with no public buses or trains, and I didn't have a car.

I was a groupie --- :rotfl2:

Followed his band through high school -- lost touch for about 3/4 years while I was in college and then were reunited about 2 years ago at a church young adult group where his brother went!!!

:hippie: :hippie:

Hey Figment Fan... are you a U of M graduate too? If you are... GO BLUE! ;)

Anyways,
I met my DF at work. We work at different departments so I've seen him around thought he was cute but we were both involved back then. Somehow both our relationships dissolved and we started to be friends. And then 3 years later... here we are!

BUT... I don't recommend office romance if you two work in the same department or office... it could get kinda messy... We are lucky because we work at different ends of the building. So we don't spend a lot of time together in front of office people to warrant any gossip, even in the beginning of our relationship. By the time people heard about it, we've been together for awhile... :rolleyes1

I am "old" compared to you ;) , so don't despair... there is someone out there for you. My friend from college (who's getting married this year also) met her DF in a baseball league.

So go out there with your interest. May it be sports, music, etc... just be patient, enjoy yourself and say lots of prayers. You'll find your other half...

i met mark on my disney college program. he was my trainer (he loves telling people that ;) ). i was sitting in the boardwalks community hall, prim and proper in my crisp white shirt and red shorts, watching cnn waiting for my trainer to come in. it's funny, a girl named melissa was supposed to train me that day, but she called in sick. so mark came in, ranting and raving about some horrifying guest experience he had just had. we left for the pool (we were lifeguards) and i thought he was such a jerk. i actually said to myself, "well, i got the hot one, but he's such a JERK, he's so cocky..." later on that day, we were up at the top of the slide at the bw and something just hit me, like a thunderbolt. i knew at that moment that he was the one for me. even though he is cocky...5 and a half years later we're getting married at the boardwalk!

an aside: i just found out that they are refurbing the pool when we are there!!!! no no no! there goes lots of picture ops. i'm so mad, but we're going to sneak in anyway, there is NO WAY i'm missing out on pics there.

I met my DF at work. He was hired almost a year to the day after I started and he was given the seat next to me. We clicked immediately. We started dating less than a month later and got engaged on the anniversary of our first date.

Work was the last place I ever expected to meet my prince charming. You will find your prince one day!

For the full story take a look at my PJ......I met my DF as a freshman in HS in my spanish class. We'll be getting married on our 6 year anniversary. Guess Spanish is good for somthing......can we say Mi novio es muy caliente?:rotfl2:

Met mine at a bus stop. I took 2 weeks off of work to move across town. My first day back to work, I saw him standing there as I approched the bus stop.
I couldn't even say good morning to him! 4 months of morning chit-chat, 4 months of dating, we married and were pregant. Here we are, will be 7 years of marriage bliss.

I met my husband in 6th grade! We were friends for a long time, then he asked me to prom our junior year and we have been together ever since!

Hey all, and Happy new years!

I met my DF at McDonald's. I had been working there for two months when he transfered there (he was a manager.) On his first day, they put me and him in drive-thru and he just kept talking. At first I thought he was a wierdo, but I'm glad we met!

I met my DF through myspace.com. He dropped me a message about being a mets fan and minutes later we were chatting on AIM. That night we decided to meet up a the local TGI Fridays to watch the ny mets vs. ny yankees (mets won!!). And we havent been apart since that was May 21 2006 we started officially dating on May 30 2006 engaged on 08/08/07 and getting married on 08/28/08.

The full story is in my PJ but here's the abridged version :goodvibes

I met my DF on the internet, but not through a dating website. He saw an artical I wrote for my college's paper and e-mailed me. Fast forward a few months, and many more e-mails, and he took me on a date. Fast forward a little more time and a lot more dates, and I'm the one of the luckiest woman alive- I get to marry my best friend :lovestruc

I met him at work, the last place I thought I would! It's a bit of a story!

He had worked as a third shift manager at BJ's for 6 years and everytime a first shift position would come up they'd tell him they would switch him if they could find someone to take his place on third shift. They never were able to find anyone...until he quit.

At the time I was working a second job at Blockbuster (the JV field hockey coach was the store manager and I was the middle school coach!) About six months into working she hired John. When I saw him I thought "Who is this loser old man!" (he was 32 and I was 25)

I knew he was interested in me for a few months. He even covered a bunch of my shifts so I could take a last minute trip to WDW with my best friend. He wasn't very social and would never come out with us.

On July 4th of 2006, the night before my trip, I worked an open-close at blockbuster with him. I swear I had slept wrong and my shoulder really hurt so he was rubbing it! He eft work around 8 and came back when we were closing at 11. We ended up chatting in the parking lot and kissed.

I spent my whole trip with my best friend saying how much of an idiot I was, that I couldn;t belive I had kissed him because I wasn't interested! I knew I had to tell him we couldn't date so I told him that since my best friend was moving 1.5 hours away I didn't want to date anyone. Even though my best friend and I hadn't ever dated, we spent 10-12 hours per day together and dating someone might be like rebounding.

Fast foward a month, John was not speaking to me since I hurt him. I felt bad and fibbed that I didn't say I would NEVER date him, just not now. Well I had a horrible second date with another guy that ended at 7:30 with a phone call from my sister pretending to be upset (yes I used the have a friend call to get you out of a date thing!). I didn't want to go home yet, so I called John to see if he wanted to hang out. He said yes and we've been together ever since! Oh yeah somewhere in there I knew he was such a great guy that I tried to hook him up with my best friend's sister! Ha ha!

Sorry that was so long!

ETA: On the trip my best friend Sean swore that not only would John and I date, but we'd get married! What did he know?!?

Met DH right here on the dis!! We were engaged at WDW in Dec'06 and married at the WP in wdw in Aug'07!!

ilovefh, wow, that's quite the story!,ahaha My problem is that I work in an office with entirely woman. We've begged them to hire some men, ahaha I'm in my last year of university but I've never met anyone there, not in 4 years of school. I always thought I would. I've been through several bad blind dates, but at least I have entertaining stories to tell. At least reading your stories gives me some hope, thanks for sharing them :D
