Ntlhddoc sent me the link and told me to sign up so I did and I was like "I don't get it, whats the point?"
Then something happend I can't remember what it was but I had to create a new account because I forgot my old log in info and I was hooked.
Thats how i missed out on my Day one pin :(
But I have a born in park pin now so it's all good :)

I played Nicktrpolis in summer 2006 but it got closed down and I started getting interested in online gaming so I just had started school and I asked 2 of my really good friends (they wre my really good friends right now bc i had just moved) 1 girl said Club Penguin, and one girl said VMK, VMK sounded more mysterious to me so I went home I tried VMK, I loved it

I was a Disneyland Annual Passholder for many, many years. I was aware of the VMK booth outside of Innoventions, but I never joined VMK until one of my friends told me to - one day after the Kellogg's Magic Pin codes stopped working :headache:

wo i oined the day before that scary!

The first time I saw the term of VMK was with the old expedition everest site but I did not know if I could join being european and also if it was free or not, so I did not join at that time but in june 2006, I was checking the potc 2 site, saw vmk again and that is when I decided to try to join.

My grandsons and I were at Magic Kingdom at WDW, two years ago next month, and to avoid crowds waiting for the parade on Main Steet we ducked into VMK Central and of course they spotted the computers, LOL:rotfl: next thing you know a cast member who plays the game explained it all, and we will be forever known as nanarules, bobthemighty and lukethemighty!!:cool1: Nice to go to the parks and have no one know who we really are, makes it safer for the boys!!!:thumbsup2 So sad :scared: that VMK closed and we are hoping it will open again soon!!!!!!!!!!!!

sorry, but i dont think VMK cast members/staff or something, would ever open VMK centrals anywhere in the parks again. They were a limited thing, but they were held open longer then expected.

Disboards while planning trip to WDW. Kept seeing this board as I would scroll through the list of all the boards, yet never clicked on it. Before going to WDW in 06, I played the Everest game so I could take advantage of the photo deal they had going on at the time. Kept winning all these virtual codes, and kept hitting delete. "Why do I care about some stupid virtual codes?" :confused3

Flash forward about a year (June of 07), and scrolled by this board another time. "Alright, what the heck is this board about?" so I clicked on it. Read up some of the stickies and thought I would join to see what it was all about. And of course now I feel "Dumbo" for deleting those Everest codes. :sad2: If only I had at least joined a year earlier. :guilty: Oh well.. I am here now! :thumbsup2

Yeah, I remember being a little dissappointed at the time, but I was optimistic that VMK would eventually re-release the Kellogg's magic again - especially since Pirates 3 was coming to a theater near me in May of 2007. I had to wait 10 months, but today, I now have Cursed Storm Magic and Buried In Treasure Magic. :thumbsup2

I am still looking for Pirate Costume Magic if anyone has it. *hint* *hint* :teeth:

I found out through the DVC section of the DISboards in May 2005. Worked out great for me, since we were going to WDW in June of 2005. I was able to the Park Quests. Love my virtual way to escape to Disney on a daily basis.:thumbsup2

My friend's neighbor played vmk. She told my friend about vmk then my friend told my sister and I saw my sister playing it. VMK looked soooo awesome so I wanted to join :cool1:

I was playing this game on disney.com and they had this billboard looking thing that had people dancing in the music mix lounge. I was bored as heck, it was the middle of summer, I joined. I joined at about.. Summer 2005. I think it was around then anyways. But back then, I didn't care about the "rare" things that came out. I thought they were ugly, and I was one of those people who always was doing taken and baby. >_<
I want to go back in time and slap myself for that.
I made soooo many new players all the time, I don't even remember my first VMK persons name.
Then I went to WDW around spring of 2006 with my best friend, and all we could think about was making VMK people while in WDW.
And there you have it, thats why you now have your SweetTinkerbelle.

:wizard: My 1,000th Post!!!!!!!

I have no clue where on the DISboards I discovered info about VMK, but I think it was right around the time Aengus and Disvaclub found out. I'm really cracking up at the Kellogg's stories, though. Marketing in action!

I kept reading about it through the Disney site, kept waiting and was all excited to join when it started...couldn't wait. Then when it finally opened I realized it wasn't going to work for us with dial-up. :headache: Finally ditched the dial-up in May '07 and got DSL and my daughter reminded me hey we can finally try out vmk now!!! Too bad we didn't get DSL sooner..
