:confused3 I know this was asked before but the search function is bringing up things like getting ready for spinning class

I am really confused on where we should be getting ready the wedding is in the evening. The girls and I need to start getting ready at around 11 am and checkin isn't until 3 and the boys need to get ready but check out is at 11 am. Do we just pay for an extra night eventhough we won't be sleeping there? I made reservations today and was told I could not have early checkin / late checkout. We will be getting ready in seperate rooms. I thought he could stay at the AKL and I would go over to the GF.

I'd definitely pay for the extra night - surely somebody in the wedding party would like to stay there the night before! It will be worth the price of the extra night not to have to hassle with checking in and checking out. Can the guys get ready in somebody else's hotel room?

Theoretically you could pay for a ballroom to get ready in (officially this requires a $500 food and beverage minimum, although some report getting it free), but even then somebody's going to have to go check you into your hotel on the wedding day right in the middle of all the prep. It would just streamline things to have you already checked in.

I checked in to our hotel the day before and stayed there. DH stayed in and got ready in his cousin's hotel room.

Hope this helps!

Are you not supposed to see each other at all on the wedding day? DF and I thought he just wasn't supposed to see me in the gown (he also doesn't know what gown I am wearing). It would be hard to avoid each other all day!

You can do whatever you want! :) Some couples get ready in the same room. We got ready separately but then met 2 hours before the ceremony to take pictures together. We did what they call a "first look" where the photographers and videographers captured the moment we first saw each other all dressed up. It was priceless. :goodvibes

I stayed at the GF and had the same problem you are having only I didn't realize it until the night before. I went down to the front desk and told them my situation and they were more then happy to give me a "loaner room" at no charge to get ready in, I just had to promise to be out by 2:00 pm. Just ask a manager when you get there, it never hurts.

I am staying at the GF the night before as we don't want to see each other prior to the ceremony so we are just paying for an extra night there so I have the room and we are staying there the whole time down there so the room will be already for us ! He is staying at the pop the night before and getting ready there! We luck out with ceremony @ 12 so we won't have checkout til 11 but family will bethere too so he could use their room too!

Oh, I love that idea! I was worried about being able to get in all of the pictures of us together after the ceremony, without making guests wait too long.

I'm using my free night to stay in one of the Garden Suites at the Boardwalk. Me and the girls will stay there the night before and get ready that morning. DF and I are checking in to the GF a few nights before the wedding, so he will stay there and get ready there, and we're staying in that room for the first half of our honeymoon, so no moving around/checking in-out :)

Ask your planner about booking a dressing room...I got ready in a tiny little room in the GF convention center. It was great. They set it up with a mirror, dress rack, and table and chairs and it had windows for natural lighting. And we were right across the hall from a huge bathroom. We had access to order off the private menu and had a lunch buffet brought to us while getting ready. And all of our dresses were pressed by carolyn allen while we were getting ready. And best of all it was free to use the room!

The only catch was...

If you want to reserve the room as yours for sure you have to pay some group vent cost. If you want it for free you have to take your chance until a month out. Once it is a month out and it is available they will book it for you for free. The good thing is there are a couple rooms that are small and really aren't sought after by other people so they tend to be open. So what I did is booked a room at the GF as backup. And then when the month mark came up and the convention room was confirmed for me I canceled the hotel room.

Also another tip. Make sure everyone has their stuff together the night before. It is hard getting up early and bringing everyone's stuff to get ready in one room. And also be sure to have yourself packed up before the wedding ceremony. If you have a late reception they will need to get your bags out of the room and bring them to the reception room. Our room looked like a disaster and the girls had to leave the reception to gather things up!

I really like this idea. We are staying in villa's off site, so I was gonna get ready there and then hire a limo to take us to the GF for pics and then to the WP. But, this would be so much easier, I think I might do this.
