additional housekeeping on the new member site?

I looked and couldn't locate it. Sometimes new DVC Owners and renters ask about it here on the DIS.

Select the desired resort from the 'Destinations' drop down menu, then select the 'Amenities' tab. Scroll down to 'Laundry and Housekeeping Services' and click on 'Read More'.

I hope I can put in my 2 cents. When we joined DVC, the biggest negative we saw was the lack of daily housekeeping. We were SURE that when we went, we'd want to pay the extra to get that. But on our first trip, we decided to tough it out and see how bad it was. Well, surprisingly, we loved not having daily housekeeping. It made it feel more homey. After all, no one comes into my home when I'm not there (least of all to make the bed). A few months after our first trip, I had occassion to be at another hotel (non-Disney) and I asked the front desk not to come into my room. I'm sure they wondered!;)

I am finding it difficult to find lots of stuff on the new website.

Me too! I gave up trying to find the countdown timer that used to be on the home page.

I, and I am sure the vast majority of members, completely agree with you. Daily housekeeping is something that is not worth what we would have to pay in dues to have it system wide, nor is it anything I'd pay out of pocket for on a regular basis.

But many people looking to rent DVC Points for the first time need to be aware of this difference between a regular cash hotel stay and a DVC Points stay so that they aren't surprised and upset once they arrive at the resort. We often get rental questions in the moderation queue of the Rent/Trade board from new potential renters. The more generic questions are edited, if necessary, and moved to the DVC Mouse board, but some are too detailed to edit effectively and are deleted. When the mods decline those posts via PM we try to answer some of their concerns and give them some info. That is why I was looking for the info. At that time I also explain that most member like not having daily housekeeping.

The new member website is OK, but it is like a game of hide and seek sometimes. I'm not complaining. It is working fairly consistently that seems to be a major accomplishment given what we've seen in the past from Disney IT. ;)

If you link your upcoming WDW DVC Room Reservations to MyDisneyExperience.com, there is a countdown timer there. I kinda prefer the one there because it also counts down to dining reservations that are linked to your disneyworld.com account.
