Here in Nebraska, Regis and Kelly have been taken off the air. The channel has a crawl on the screen that says the show can no longer be aired on their channel.

Might mean a lot of things, but perhaps their contract with that station is up. Whatever! I can't find them anywhere, the station doesn't answer their phone (no surprise) and I need my morning dose of Reege!

I would guess you're right, that your local station decided not to air them anymore. I would call the station and ask why, and if nothing else, put in your voice and opinion as someone who still wants to see the show. I would imagine you wouldn't be the only one upset that it's no longer in your area.

It's still on in the Omaha area (Cox Cable) at it's normal time of 9:00 AM. At least it was on Friday, I didn't watch it this morning.

Ah, I saw a local ad here and they are still on but switching channels. Our local station KPLR Channel 11 is going to broadcast them.

So maybe they are losing their viewers?:confused3

Alright now I looked it up and didn't see it, but I did see something called the Vampire Diaries coming this fall....cool.

Here is the ad for our local programming.

‘Regis and Kelly’ moves to KPLR (Channel 11)

Same time; different channel. As of today, “Live With Regis and Kelly” takes up residence at 9 a.m. weekdays on KPLR (Channel 11), giving Regis Philbin a new address after more than two decades on KMOV (Channel 4).

Strange it would be on CBS. It is an ABC (Disney) program.

Regis and Kelly is a syndicated program, distributed by a unit of Disney. It's not a network show.

In Philly it airs on the ABC station.

In Orlando, the NBC affiliate WESH carries Live.

It's on a cbs channel in Oklahoma. Production companies sell to whatever station bids on them, even if they actually own a station. Here it leads into The price is right, maybe the viewership is the same demographics, so it makes more sense to be on CBS, if it was on ABC it would lead into The View, thinking not the same group watching those two shows.....

OT, but the Vampire Diaries are filmed in my town :)

This is exactly what it does here. I never thought of R&K being anything but an ABC show. They mention being on ABC all the time. I think they actually film at the ABC Studios uptown. Meanwhile, NBC has their own The Today Show and CBS has The Morning Show all on at the same time.

Me too.

R&K is filmed at the studios of WABC-tv (Channel 7) here in New York.

Here's a "fun fact": the R&K studios are just steps behind the Ch. 7 news desk.

That's why Ch. 7 has to do teasers from their newsroom, and why R&K had to relocate for 2 weeks during the WABC fire last year.

I was wrong when I wrote this. In tonight's paper it confirmed that the contract talks had failed and Regis & Kelly wouldn't be carried anymore on KMPT. Not sure who if anyone will pick them up.

They are carried on tape delay in Lexington on a CBS station. Some soap opera is on at 9:00, one that is usually on later in the day.

As an unfortunate resident of the Omaha TV market, let me just say that I have totally lost faith in Omaha broadcasting--especially in that idiotic KMTV, which is the station that dropped R & K last August. I constantly have to play guessing games as to when or even if they are going to run Entertainment Tonight Weekend or At The Movies. The schedules say one thing--the results are almost always something else. It never lets up.

I say it's about time KMTV were put up for sale. Journal Broadcasting alledgedly doesn't have enough money for R&K to be profitable for KMTV to run. So where is there in this city for R & K to go? The ABC station tried to get a contract, but Disney/ABC wasn't satisfied with the offer, so they forgot it and moved on, and now they apparently have no room for it. The NBC affiliate could concievably air it next season since Martha Stewart is moving to Hallmark, but nothing has come of it yet. Same with KPTM Fox 42--they won't have Bonnie Hunt next fall, but according to a recent conversation I had with the Disney?ABC people, no one around here is interested in rescuing Regis & Kelly from this damn limbo they've been forced into around here. This is sad--there ARE viewers here who want to see it again. The show is still on in all but three markets--all of them serving parts of Iowa; that's even SADDER. If this is what it means to live here, I'm sorry I was ever born into a family that opted to live here.

If this is to be the future of Regis & Kelly as far as Omaha is concerned, then I wish they would follow the examples of Oprah and Martha and move their own show to cable--maybe Disney or ABC Family--so we'd ALL get to see it instead of being manipulated at the hands of these fickle affiliates who constantly screw me out of show after show I'd rather be watching locally.
I've given up all hope for Omaha broadcasters, and wish I could leave the area.
