Where can you use gift cards?

Can you use Disney gift cards anywhere in the parks? We are going in July and was tossing around the idea of loading up on gift cards. In DTD can you only use them at WOD?

Disney Gift Cards can be used in most locations in both parks, except at some (maybe all) of the third party shops in the parks. They aren't accepted at Ghiradelli's or the Arribas Brothers shops (those are the ones I've tried - I think there might be another shop, but I can't remember) and they can't be used for penny press machines or balloon sellers (both are cash only).

In DTD, Disney Gift Cards can be used at any of the Disney-owned shops (WoD, Pin Traders, Marcelines, D-Street, Vault 28, Anna & Elsa's Boutique, etc.), but not at the third party locations.

I think those are the crystal shops.

They are the Crystal Art shop on Main Street and Cristal D' Orleans shop in New Orleans Square.

Can I piggyback on your question? I am a WDW vet and am used to charging everything to my MB and paying off the room charges with a Disney GC at the end of each night (and keep the GCs locked in the room safe). At DL, can I use my room key to charge things? Or am I going to need to bring some GCs with me in the parks?

I am 99.9% sure you can use your key to charge stuff in the parks. I haven't used that feature though since we usually just bring cash. This go round I get work bonuses I the form of visa gift cards so I may just buy Disney gifts cards with them as a way to budget

Ok, thanks! I hope we can charge to our room. Would be nice to carry (and potentially lose) less!

I just made a reservation at the Mandara Spa today, and the receptionist specifically mentioned about charging treatments to the room. Hopefully in-park stuff will apply for you as well.
