I'm going to try to take advantage of one of the great deals on gift cards, but where might I NOT be able to use them?
Snack carts? Restaurants in Downtown Disney?
Menus on the Disney site do not include types of payment accepted.

Snack carts - b/c they don't have credit card hookups, you'll be able to use them anywhere on property that you would be able to use a credit card.

You also cannot use them to purchase YES tickets.

I have used them at the snack carts at MK & DHS. Some are equipped to accept them.

Can we use them at Downtown Disney? DS wants to do the lego thing there and I'm hoping that there's some Disney themed Legos for him to add to his collection :goodvibes

Pretty much all snack carts have CC machines because they accept KTTW cards. I have never had a problem using a gift card at a snack cart.

All snack carts except 1 accept gift/credit cards. The only one I know for certain does not is the Wetzel's cart near Once Upon a Toy & Pin traders. There may be 1 or 2 others that I'm not remembering right now, but that one for sure I know doesn't. Otherwise you'll be good.

There are certain stores in DTD that are not Disney owned therefore don't do GC's or discounts. I'm almost positive that Lego does accept Disney Gift cards, but I would call and check to make sure. I also know that the magic store doesn't. Not sure about Ridemakerz and some others, so if there is a specific store you're thinking of using them at, give them or Disney a call.

Not sure about restaurants. Puck's & Earl's are both on the dining plan, so I would think they'd accept them..still not 100% so I'd call Disney and ask :) Otherwise the "rule of thumb" is...anything Disney owned you can use gift cards on, resorts, restaurants, gift shops, cruise line, etc.

Disney Gift Cards are not accepted anywhere on Shades of Green (even though SoG is on-property, it is owned by the U.S. Department of Defense and is not considered "Disney property", as GCs go).

I would imagine the same rule applies over at the Bonnet Creek resort (since that resort is largely not considered to be a part of WDW and is owned/operated by Wyndham).

Perhaps the same rule applies for the 7 non-Disney hotels/resorts situated near Downtown Disney?

GCs are also not acceptable for payment for gas/food items/snacks at the three Hess Express gas stations/c-stores on-property (as those facilities are all operated by the Hess Corporation).

You cannot use them at the little kiosks in the parks that do silhouettes and chariactures. They are privately employed. You can use a personal credit card though, just fyi.

The snack cart right in front of Boardwalk, I think it's called Boardwalk Joe's, doesn't accept Disney gift cards or KTTW cards. Only cash/credit cards beacuse it's not Disney owned.

I use the KTTW card, then settle up at the front desk with my Visa rewards card.

You also can not use Disney gift cards at any of the Swan/Dolphin restaurants. I was also not able to use one last fall at House of Blues (this may have changed though, since they are now accepting the DDP. I was able to use one at T Rex in Feb, which surprised me, since they are not Disney owned).
