Where can you buy a light saber?

We don't have plans to go to Disney Springs, but are going to Hollywood Studios.

Are you able to build your own light saber there?

Yes! Tatooine Traders store in HS has build your own light sabers

There is a store next to Star Tours. Actually Star Tours exits through the store. You can build a light saber there. Looking at a map, it might be called Tatooine Traders. If you have star wars fans, be prepared to spend a few minutes looking around.

Really fun experience. Our boys loved it. Try to do it later in the day. It's heavier than most light sabers and a bit of a pain to carry around.

I believe you can also do build you own light saber at Mickey's Star Traders as well.

Not as exciting as the store at DHS right after riding the attraction, but it is usually less crowded. My DD was going to build one at DHS, but it was super crowded that day so she built her lightsaber at the toy store in DS. She loved the experience (so did my DH).

I was going to suggest this. It does feel a bit more immersive to build it right after Star Tours, but that gift shop often feels like the most crowded place in DHS. We did it at Star Traders, and it was much less crowded.

My son built his own light saber in Mousegears in Epcot. He had a giftcard to spend on whatever he wanted but HS was early in our trip and he wasn't ready to pull the trigger. We were thrilled when we saw it at Mousegears on our last day.
