WDW's best bagel and cream cheese with lox? It is my moms FAVORITE breakfast and I want to make sure I include wherever it is in our plans. Any tips?!?! Thanks!!

Honestly, I have to say I don't think I have ever encountered a superior breakfast bagel and lox - but then again, we are from NYC and once you leave the area, bagels are pretty poor IMO. I know we actually had fairly decent lox at Crystal Palace believe it or not. I also think someone said Akershus had pretty good lox- not sure about bagels though.

The Crystal Palace had all the "fixins" for bagels with cream cream & lox when we were there for B-fast. You can always check out the breakfast menus on allears.net. :upsidedow

I had a very good "everything" bagel at the food court at All Star Music (I would guess this same bagel could be found anywhere on property). No lox though. If you have a fridge and a car, you might pick some up at the super market. It's my very favorite splurge.

Not what I am used to because my family owns Jewish Delis but CP is ok for a bagel and lox.

As others have mentioned, the bagels themselves at WDW aren't great.

My favorite place to go for a bagel w/lox, though, is a hidden gem (and a pretty good bargain, too!) -- Starring Rolls over at Studios.

The bagels are just the regular bagels (they have a toaster available if you care to toast them). You get your choice of salmon -- traditional smoked salmon or pastrami salmon. The portion of salmon is pretty generous and it is served plated with a good amount of cream cheese, plenty of capers, and plenty of thinly sliced red onion. The best part? It's only $6.

Oh, and the candy store is just a quick walk away to pick up those wonderful little tins of Disney mints afterwards. :)

As a native New Yorker, I have to agree with many of the previous posters. You can get decent lox in WDW (after all, it is smoked salmon), but good bagels is a whole different story. Bakers can make great bread, but making bagels is a completely different process.

ETA: The lox at Akershus and Crystal Palace was very good when we tried it.

Thanks guys!!

CP was one place I was considering for brekkie. We have never really done sit downs for breakfast while at WDW, just the occasional Chef Mickeys, but for our trip next year we are doing the DxDDP :cool1: (we love signatures:thumbsup2 ) so I thought why not include at least 2 or 3 fun breakfasts. And I wanted to make sure to include a place with DM's fave, since it is her birthday:dance3:

I second Starring Rolls at MGM. Not NY bagels, but the toppings are good.
