Where can I get better rate FW Cabin or WL?

We will be staying in the campground but need to find somewhere close for my husband's aunt and uncle. I'm so used to the campground that I don't have a clue about any other resorts. What kind of discounts and when can you usually get them? We will be going next Thanksgiving.

The cabins are almost always cheaper than the rooms at the WL, but not by much. My suggestion for best discount is to buy an annual pass for one member of the family. Though you may pay extra for the pass versus the Park Hopper, you can save hundreds of dollars on both your reservation at the Cabins, and any reservation for your guest. Another option would be to get a 2 bedroom suite at the Wilderness Lodge Villas (if you don't mind sharing a room)

I would hold off on the AP, because last Fall the code rates were cheaper than the AP rates.

I'd say rates for the two are probably about the same. The rack rates are very close, with WL possibly being cheaper depending on view. Specials on the cabins seem less consistent than those for the WL.

The cabins felt a little isolated to me. There aren't many places close enough to walk, and, as you know, you can't really drive & park at FW. You have to take the internal busses everywhere. It looks like the camping loops are more convenient to the facilities & especially the MK boat than the cabins.

WL seems easier. If they want a snack or drink they can just walk down to the lobby. With the cabins, you do have a kitchen, but you have to buy supplies (will they have a car? can you take them to the store?). I guess it really depends on what they would feel comfortable with.

Happy planning! :)

Thank you very much for your help! At least I know they are comparable. I will just keep my eyes open on this board and Mousesavers for discounts. I will be getting an AP since we have 2 trips planned, probably only 1 since we have leftover days from previous trips for one of us to use. Can I use AP for a discount on a campsite AND a cabin or room?

Yes, you can use an AP for both the cabin and resort, but only if your name is on both reservations. In my experience they rarely ask to see the Annual Pass , but in case they do you will need to also be there at check-in to present it just in case.
