where can I get a monte cristo?

Since the Blue Bayou is closed temporarily, does anyone know if any other restaurant serves the monte cristo?

I don't think so. When are you going to DL? I believe Blue Bayou will be back up and running in late June. We were at DL last weekend and I must say we really missed having our lunch at Blue Bayou. There is no where else inside the park that is such a nice "calm oasis". On the other hand, we did get to try out some new restaurants (new to us at least).

Yep for now the Blue Bayou is the only place to get it. When Cafe Orleans re-opens as a table service place (as reported by mouseplanet) it will include a possibly vegetatrian version of the sandwhich.

Here is my Blue Bayou Monte Cristo Sandwich recipe:

( We think they are better than at the restaurant!)

Batter: 1 ½ cup flour
1/4 tsp salt
1 T baking soda
1 1/3 cup water
1 egg

Sandwiches: Bread (I use Buttermilk Bread)
Sliced turkey
Sliced ham
Sliced swiss cheese

1. Make sandwiches and cut them into fourths. Hold each forth together with a toothpick.
2. Dip each piece in the batter.
3. Deep fry in hot canola oil.
4. Drain on paper towels and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
5. Serve with jelly/jam of your choice.

Hint: I usually make 1 less sandwich than the number of adults who are eating. Each fourth is very filling.
