I am coming in from MCO airport. We have a rental car. Could someone tell me where I can find a liquor store on the way to SSR. We are celebrating our anniv. and would like to pick up a bottle of champagne.

not sure of the exit but there is a publix and pblix liquour store right next to it...the exit also has a sonic fast food...it may be one or two past the airport on the way into wdw...

There should be a duty free shop in Orlando Airport. That might help. :)

I think it's best to get one along the way because I will have the suitcases and bags already. Is the exit number on or two? This is the first time we will be flying. We always drive to WDW so I am not familiar with the exits:confused3 .

Every deluxe and DVC resort we've stayed at has had at least two kinds of chilled champagne available at the sundries store at the resort. Runs about $25-28 a bottle. The one we tried recently was Iron Horse Fairy Tale Cuvée, which was quite good.

hmm.. i suggest that you forget about the rental car and take a taxi instead. the driver surely knows a lot about the place so I guess he knows where to get all the liquors you want... :woohoo:

In Florida they can sell wine at grocery stores (one thing I really miss about living there) so any Publix would have champagne. If you go to the publix website you should be able to search for nearby/on the way from the airport stores.

Since you have a car, you'll find a better selection of wines at ABC liquor stores than the grocery store. I know there is one at the shopping center where Winn Dixie is, not far from DTD. Here's the address:
Winn-Dixie #2215
SHOPPES OF LAKE AVENUE
11957 SOUTH APOPKA VINELAND RD
ORLANDO, FL 32836

Take Hotel Plaza Blvd from DTD, left on 535, WD and the ABC store are on the right side of the road, just past the intersection for Palm Pkwy... maybe a mile up.

I agree, the Iron Horse Fairy Tale Cuvée is nice. I saw it in the cooler at Artist Pallette (shop/counter service at SSR) in June.
BTW- Hubby and I will be celebrating our anniversary at SSR later this month too!
:tinker: Have a magical trip!

laurabelle beat me to it.

There is also a liquor store attached/next to Goodings but heaven only knows what their prices are. We always use the ABC store.

1) Almost every small strip center has a liquor store.
2) Plus, there is one next to almost every grocery store.

Thanks alot. We will try the Iron Horse Fairy Tale Cuvee'. ( I 'm writing it down now.) I will also map quest the Winn-Dixie to food shop. I will also pick up something there. I doesn't hurt to celebrate twice.:drinking1
