I'm planning on arriving late at the airport, and staying at one of the Disney hotels on an AP rate, but I don't plan on buying the AP until I get to Orlando. I'm assuming I'll actually need to purchase the AP before checking in to the hotel, right? Does anyone know where I can buy the AP this late at night??

Thanks!

You can buy the tickets at the hotel. I think the only thing possible for you other than buying one at the Disney Store or online would be to get the AP before you check in and buy it at the Guest Services desk when you check in. Hope I have helped.

I'll need one too, we will be getting in almost as late ::yes:: . This may be a silly question, princssdisnygina, but would the pass be activated then? I wonder why more people don't buy them at the desk instead of sending off for vouchers beforehand? Although, come to think of it, that is what I was planning on doing, just to help me by having one more aspect of our trip nice and pre paid for ::yes:: ::yes:: :D.

You can not buy AP's when checking in at your resort (unless you are at the Swan & Dolphin). The only places to buy passes onsite is at any park ticket window, Downtown Disney Guest Services, and as I mentioned before, the Swan/Dolphin, sorry.

Why not just buy one from your Disney Store?? They still sell the AP vouchers don't they? Then you at least have the voucher in hand when you check in. I'm sure they will understand why you haven't gotten your voucher activated yet. Seems the easiest way to me.

I think I would buy one before you get there. They are the same price no matter where you get them. The only discount they had was through the DC and now that that is gone no more discounts for AP.

You cannot purchase annual passes at the resorts.
Here is a list of where you can purchase them.

Where can I buy Annual Passports (AP's) and Premium Annual Passports (PAP's)?

The following places will send you a voucher for your AP/PAP. This voucher must be exchanged for the actual pass at any WDW ticket window or Guest Relations window or at the Guest Relations offices at Downtown Disney or Downtown Disney West Side:

- Most Disney Stores throughout the U.S.
- online at www.disney.com
- by calling 407-WDISNEY
The following places will sell you an activated AP/PAP. No exchanging required:

- Any WDW major park ticket window
- Guest Relations at the major parks or at Downtown Disney and West Side
- The Ocala Disney Information Center on I-75 in Ocala, FL
- Disney's EarPort at Orlando International Airport (2 locations)
- Character Warehouse at Belz Mall 2 in Orlando
- Character Premiere at Belz Mall 1 in Orlando
- Character Premiere at Orlando Premium Outlets Mall in Lake Buena Vista

Sorry -- I guess I'm still confused. Are any of these places open at midnight?

Or, will they let me check in at the AP rate with just the "unactivated" voucher?

Thanks again...

Since others have addressed the where to buy an AP issue, I'll address the other unasked side of the question.

Your worst case scenario if you have an AP rate, show up to check in without the pass or a voucher and are asked to show it by the CM is that you will have 24 hours to purchase the AP and return to the front desk to show it. If you fail to do that, you will be charged rack rate for your stay. They will still put you in a room.

It's really not a major tragedy, just an inconvenience. You can avoid the hassle by simply purchasing an AP voucher ahead of time but you won't be locked up overnight in IaSW if you don't. ;)

No. There is no place to get one at midnight.

Most people have no problem checking in with just the voucher. For the worst case scenario, see my above post.

You might try Guest Services at Downtown Disney West Side. With Pleasure Island open late, Guest Services might also be open.

In summary (for my own information as well):

- You can make a reservation for a room with an AP rate without having an AP at all.

- In order to actually get that rate, you have to either have an AP when you check in, have an AP voucher when you check in, or come back within 24 hours of checking in with an AP. So, you don't have to try and go anywhere at midnight when you arrive in Orlando to get the AP. Just check in, go to a park, get your AP, and stop by the desk when you get back to the hotel.

- You can buy a voucher online or at a Disney Store but the clock doesn't start ticking on the AP until you activate it which you will do at the ticket window of the first park you go to.

Do I have this right?

You've got it right! :)

Except for the second item. Official Disney policy is that you have to have an activated AP. Like you said though, enforcement of that policy varies greatly. In extreme circumstances like the original poster's, I can't see where they'd have a problem with not having an activated AP! :)

It's not. It closes at 11 Su-Th and 11:30 F-Sa

Thanks for all the help -- you guys are great!

It sounds like my best bet is to just get the voucher before I go.

Thanks again!
