Just want to nook for 2 nights but minimum on disney is 5. Dnt want to waste points on the friday and the saturday when we arrive at my dvc resort as nearly double points.
Dd would like to try the resort but if we cant will book pop again

Just use Trivago.co.uk to compare who has the lowest rate, they should all be fairly similar, around £40 - £45/nt on hotels.com I've noticed.

Yeah I was thinking that, the 5 night minimum is for packages, you can book accommodation only for any number of nights. I'd still just check Trivago though, Disney will charge you the rack rate and be more expensive that other sites.

I booked 2 nights off the internet and got the prices way cheaper then Disney wanted me to pay!

I went with Bookit.com and paid $210 a for the 2 nights which i was thrilled with.

Ahh whos the donutt:happytv: forgot to put just hotel in. Ben will look at hotels . Com and trivago as well.
Cindy are u in a suite or mermaid room?

I booked AoA for 3 nights directly from disney USA.
It was $95 a night plus tax
But that was for a little mermaid room, not for a suite

I wanted to book one of The Little Mermaid rooms for two nights in October but Disney have sold out and I haven't found it available on any of the usual sites either. :(

I have found that LM rooms show as unavailable for arrivals on fridays and saturdays on the UK website, but still show availability on the US website
that's for october/november.

there are also deals for LM rooms on hotels.com (in france anyway, can't check for the UK prices)

Hmm, interesting. Thanks for that info. I have just tried the US site though and I can only see the suites. :confused3 I'll check out the French version of hotels.com, thanks.

ETA: Just checked the French hotels.com and they don't have any availability for TLM rooms either. I think I need to accept that they have completely sold out! I am quite surprised though, seeing as October is low season.

there are very few LM room left on hotels.com

just found one on oct 30th for 2 nights 186€

if you download their android app and use discount code MOBAPP1 from the smartphone/tablet you get 10% off (but don't get the rewards points towards a free night)

ETA : there is also a LM room for 2 nights on the 22nd

Thanks for checking and thanks for sharing the discount code. I go on October 5th so I guess I've just left it too late. :(

There is NOTHING left for October when it comes to LMR they sold out pretty much right away!

I wanted 3 nights at AOA from the 23rd to the 27th and i looked up 20 odd sites and could get nothing i then lucked out when i changed the nights to only 2 nights and managed to get the 23rd & 24th of October in the LMR but that was it!!

although October is value they have some kind of conference going on that has booked nearly the whole of Disney up! As i wanted to change to another hotel instead of SSR but nothing was availble :(

Eek, thanks for that information. Never mind, there'll always be another chance to stay there I guess. Hope you enjoy it! :)

Im in a LMR Disney Uk wanted just over £100 for each night!

I was quite shocked at how much the rooms have gone up!!!! In 2009 we pais £42 a night at pop. If im gonna end up paying £90 odd a night may just borrow sme points from next years allocation. Will see how the funds go.xx

did the price really go up that much ?
2009 prices were based on the GBP exchange rate towards the USD (2008 figures)
it was at $2 for £1

2012 rates were calculated with a Sterling Pound a little under 1.5 buck for a quid.

so your £42 was $84 a night in 2009

today a night (weekdays value season) is at £64
those £64 are calculated (at the time rates were released) to be worth $92.8

so in 4 years the price of a room at POP was increased from $84 to $92.8, or 10.4% which is more than reasonable for a 4 years period.

at the same time, the price moved up from £42 to £64 for UK guests, which is a 52.3% increase in price.
While I do understand it is outrageous, you can only blame it on your currency getting weaker. Not on a Disney price hike gone out of control. Because in the end the value of the room is only 10% higher than it was 4 years ago, not 52.3% higher (even if your wallet doesn't know the difference)

Still, consider yourself lucky, you're living on a beautiful island and you got quids in your wallet ... you could have euros like me instead :rotfl: :rotfl2:

just for the record, with the euro crashing over the summer. I had to pay my balance with WDTC-UK
When I booked in april, the euro was holding steady against the sterling pound and the us dollar.
then it started to fall to a record low, and I had to pay my balance at the lowest point.
in 3 months, a 21 nights stay at POP, with 21 days tickets ended up costing me £150 more than the price I would have paid if I had paid in full when I booked

So I guess it's easy to call prices crazy, but we must bear in mind that the price hike is closely related to how our currency is doing versus the US dollar, because in the end we all pay in US dollar for our WDW stays. WDTC-UK only simplifies this for us by converting the prices into sterling pound based on the value of the pound at the time they publish the rates.

(sorry, long post, but I was in the mood :rotfl: )

AoA is slightly more expensive than pop for the same room (single room vs single room)...
but only slightly more..

i have to go find my reservation - it's for next month....
each night was a different rate, but it was about $95 on average (more on the weekend)...

i booked directly with disney in the US - i called them up, not on the website.
