Where are you staying on your next Disneyland Trip and Why?

Days Inn Fullerton this weekend because it is cheaper, has good reviews, and I have parking on my AP.

We also are only spending one day at Disney, so not having to deal with the resort congestion when heading to other places is a plus.

We are staying at the Candy Cane Inn for the first time. In December of 1997, dh and I traveled to DL to get married at the DL Hotel Gazebo and a family on our shuttle bus was telling us about how much the LOVE the CCI and their family and extended family had been staying there for years and would never switch. We have always talked about staying there and this time, we are. May not live up to all that hype, but we like to try new things even if we are vacationing at the same spot over and over so this is one of our 'try something new's!!

We are planning on driving a Class C Motorhome down for our next trip. After reading/listening to the few reviews/posts I could find we chose the Anaheim RV Park over the other nearby parks. There isn't near as much information as I thought there would be about doing this.

With so much knowledge and experience in this thread, can any of you advise whether or not any of your favorite places allow/accommodate Motorhome parking? I have tried searching for this information and can't find a good way to figure it out with so many hotels nearby?

Are we stuck with the RV parks themselves or staying way further out away from the resort district or do we have other options I could be exploring?

Anyway, in looking that the hotels that have been mentioned the most, which of these have direct access to the outside and which ones go through a lobby area? Some I think I remember, but not all of them. (Tried using Google Maps, but could not always tell from it)

Fairfield
Camelot
Carousel
Tropicana
BWPPI
Park Vue
Desert Inn
Del Sol
Best Western Anaheim Inn
Grand Legacy at the Park

Most of these places are actually motels rather than hotels, and they have outside door access. The best way to tell is to go to the websites and look at the pictures.

I believe that most of the hotels above are all ones you access from the outside. The main place people mention with inside corridors is the HOJO (Howard Johnson's).

HOJO has a tower with indoor rooms. The smaller buildings are also inside access, but they don't really have that hotel feeling.

Most of these nearby places barely have enough room to park the cars for their customers. They don't have room for RVs.

We're (me and my sons ages 10 and 6) leaving on Sunday for the Paradise Pier Hotel. We have stayed onsite at DLH and GCH before and stay offsite more often than not to save money for more trips (we're AP holders). This time my kids were allowed to choose the hotel and they both really wanted to stay at the PPH - they both love the buffet dinner/breakfast there and we booked premium view so we'll hopefully get to see DCA lit up beautiful at night when we head to bed.

If it is a trip where we budget and stay offsite we really loved Tropicana Inn & Suites when we stayed in March, the location was perfect, rooms were clean and the staff was excellent. One of my favorite things was the decent sized fridge that not only kept our things very cold, the freezer compartment actually froze things! I'm probably in the minority, but the hotel fridges are an important part to me!

Are you talking about parking your RV at a hotel? I don't think any near Disneyland will allow that. The lots are so tiny.

I've read good things about Anaheim RV Park. We hope to have a travel trailer in a few years and that's likely where we'll stay. The ART shuttle stops there which is nice.

Living in Alabama, WDW is our "home" park with regards to proximity, but we LOOOVE going to DLR. Our first trip we stayed at PP and the other three at HOJO. I just found out yesterday that DW may be attending an annual convention in LA next year, so you know what I immediately began to consider.

Not on your list, but I think the new Holiday Inn Express has interior corridors. It's located behind the Courtyard Marriot and it looks like you can cut through the parking lots to get there rather than walk around on the actual roads. I don't think it'd be too bad of a walk, unless you have young kids.

We (me, dh, ds14 and dd12) will be staying at the new Homewood Suites Convention Center in August. I am so excited and didn't see it represented on this list much. To me, a big breakfast MAKES it a vacation. We all love breakfast and with coming from the East Coast - I'm sure our stomachs will be ready to have a nice big meal at 7:00am. We will also be trying out the 'cocktail' hour/snacks a couple of the nights. I love that I can send the kids down to start eating while I get all must stuff organized for the day. It feels more like vacation when we're not just grabbing stuff on the way or out of our frig to eat quick before we head out.

I also like that if we're too tired to walk back the 15 or so minutes, we can hop a shuttle to the Toy Story lot to make our trip quicker.

going in June, staying at the HOJO. paying at least $45 less per night compared to PVI or Ramada maingate (called something else now)
the decision was purely $$ based since the hotels above get pretty good reviews. pluses -$$ minuses - another 4-5 minute walk to the parks, no breakfast

Booked the new Courtyard Marriott theme park/waterpark for November - Why? - location and SMOKIN' DEAL with WestJet Vacation package ( 1st time doing a pkg )
previous trips ( pretty much same criteria )
2005 - Annabella
2008 - Camelot
2011- Hojos
2014 - PVI

I imagine GCH. We stayed there last year. This year we stayed at DLH and I liked it very much but DH really prefers GCH. It wasn't about the location, our room in the Grand was so far from the lobby that I think our walk from DLH was actually shorter, he just loves the craftsman style...
Your DH will enjoy the GCH Art of the Craft Tour :thumbsup2

We're staying at the Grand Californian because we bought into DVC. Pre-DVC we liked the Tropicana or the Carousel, whichever was priced best at the moment. We don't really do breakfast at the hotel, and our primary goal has been staying as close as possible.

DH and ODD are going to a concert at the Angel's Stadium a Saturday in August so YDD and I are going to go to DL for a day. We are going to stay at the Homewood Suites. We have never stayed there before but it has good reviews and free breakfast.

I am going back for a kid free trip to celebrate my best friends birthday in October. We will most likely stay at the Fairfield Inn. We stayed there in November and it was nice. We especially loved being by Pizza Press!

I just booked Tropicana for our quick weekend September trip. We've stayed there before and I got a good rate!!

DH and I are going next month and staying at the Best Western Stovall's Inn :) It had a great rate compared to other hotels in the area, and I have a couple of friends who have stayed there and had good experiences. I also liked that it is not far from the Paradise Pier (where we stayed last year) so we could take the same walk through the GCH and Downtown Disney to get into the parks.

Are you talking about parking your RV at a hotel? I don't think any near Disneyland will allow that. The lots are so tiny.

I was talking about staying at a hotel as a guest and being able to park the RV there. I was thinking about it as a backup plan in case we decided we wanted to extend our trip a few days and Anaheim RV Park was full and couldn't accommodate us. I don't recall seeing any RVs in any of the lots where we have stayed before, but do remember how tight a lot of those lots are and how hard it was to even find open stalls to begin with.

I've read good things about Anaheim RV Park. We hope to have a travel trailer in a few years and that's likely where we'll stay. The ART shuttle stops there which is nice.

I have read good reviews about Anaheim RV Park too (mostly Trip Advisor, Yelp and Facebook posts). I did find the podcast episode where Mary Jo recommended them over the other 2 RV parks in the area and a few posts with similar information. I was honestly expecting to find a lot of posts and/or trip reports about other people that have taken their RVs, but almost everything is about WDW and Fort Wilderness and there is hardly anything about people doing it at Disneyland.

We have a friend that offered to let us take their RV, so it will be a surprise (both the RV and our final destination) for as long as we can keep it. We will pack everything into the RV at their house ahead of time and pull up and load the kids and hit the road. We will leave some clues (disney books, guides, movies, coloring books, etc.) throughout the RV and see how long it takes for them to figure it out. We have even joked around about if we could make it all the way until we hopped on the ART shuttle or even arrived at the park before they figure it out.

We are crossing our fingers that it doesn't end up turning into a "National Lampoon" style vacation, but everyone that is in on the secret keeps teasing us about that possibility...

November - Myself, DS (13), DH and my folks are finally staying at GCH! Our last 2 trips were at Peacock Suites and prior to that I stayed at HOJO.
Reason? Because of the proximity to the parks and we had extra $$$ in our budget. Can't wait for our break day - Cabana rental by the pool!

We are going in November and will be staying at the Stanford Inn in a 2 bedroom, 2 bath room.

We chose it mainly because we are a family of 6 on a budget. Most places have a maximum occupancy of 5 and we can't afford to pay for two rooms. This is our first trip with our youngest (he will be 11 months when we go), so we were surprised at the lack of options we could afford.

I think we ended up paying $790 for 6 nights, including tax. We like the fact that a decent breakfast is included (two of our boys will be 14 and nearly 11 when we go, and feeding them gets spendy!), and that there is an ART stop right out front. We bought 5 day passes and are a little anxious about using public transportation for the first time, but hopefully it will go smoothly!

Previous trips we have stayed at a random assortment of budget friendly hotels on and near Harbor, but have never repeated the same place twice. The best were probably the Tropicana and the Del Sol, but that is based entirely on the short walk to DLR.

We are so excited for this trip, though! I can't wait to see our 2 year old's reaction! :)

My family will be staying at the Disneyland Hotel. We got a decent rate on the room through Sam's Club. Over a month ago we stayed at the Grand Californian (our second time staying there) and it was nice but I wanted a hotel with more Disney theming/magic. When we walked through the grounds of the DL Hotel, my son just lit up! In the past I have stayed off property (my husband and I liked the Sheraton Park) but with a toddler who takes mid day naps it is nice to be close so I can sneak to downtown disney for some 'alone time' to shop and have a coffee.
