Hey Girls,
I am having a hard time picking a place for my Rehearsal Dinner. So, I am wondering what everyone is doing/did do for there Rehearsal Dinner. Feel free to add as many details and pictures. Maybe the rest of us can get some ideas!!!

We're having ours at Ohanas! Kind of a "disbride classic" lol but it seems really cool. I have never actually eaten there though but based on the menu and the pictures I've seen of the location it looks like a lot of fun. Plus the price isn't that bad in my opinion... $25 per person for all you care to eat including your drink (not alcoholic drinks though). It also kind of has some symbolic value for us... see DF's parents are paying for this and his dad has only been to Disney twice (once was last year when he surprised me when David proposed and his whole family was there:) ) and the other was when he was younger and the poly had just been built. He says all he really remembers was walking around the Poly and thinking how cool it was and stuff... so when we mentioned having the rehearsal dinner at a restaurant in the Poly he was all over it!

We're going to eat there on our planning session trip to check it out so I'll try and remember to take some pictures and post them on here if you want. :goodvibes

Good luck deciding!

We're having a beach BBQ at the summerhouse at the GF. My FMIL is planning this so it's (almost) completely out of my hands.

I'm also doing Ohana. It's our absolute favorite restaurant! Also, we didnt want a location we'd have to rent out and pay minimums... we're doing enough of that for the wedding!

Thanks for all of the comments! Keep the idea coming!!!

another Ohana rehearsal dinner here. since my parents are paying for the entire wedding and have to foot the bill for the rehearsal dinner too, a fixed cost per person sounded great to us :thumbsup2

For those that are doing 'Ohana, what are you doing about alcoholic drinks. They have so many great different types of drinks there, but once you start adding them in - it is almost the price of a dinner. I feel funny asking people to pay for their own since they came so far to attend our wedding. Maybe we should do a breakfast that way alcoholic drinks don't even come into play.

from what i understand the wait staff will inform your guests that if they order alcohol it will be on a seperate check for them. that way you dont have to tell anyone anything :)

I had a BBQ buffet at Fort Wilderness at Celementine beach. I made the buffet menu, NY strip steak, BBQ chicken, salads, baked potato bar, apple cobbler with vanilla ice cream. It was great! We planned the whole thing through our planner.

There are pics in my wedding TR it you would like to see them!

We are using California Grill! I am so excited cause I have never eaten there. We wanted to use one of their private rooms for our reception but our guest count got too large. At least we will have it for the rehersal dinner. The only issue with it was that because the amount of people attending the rehersal dinner is large (15), the latest time they could give us reservations for is 5:50pm. I hope they dont rush us out, I want to watch the fireworks, that was part of the appeal of the restaurant.

I think I will definitely ask the wait staff to inform everyone that their drinks (if they choose to get one) will be on a separate check. I'm inviting everyone that is coming to the wedding (40-50 people) to this welcome/rehearsal dinner and at $26 pp I really can't afford to pay for the drinks too.

Another bride, I believe it was Sharon - was saying that when they had their rehearsal dinner the wait staff told everyone that drinks were included . So I think that if you don't intend on paying for the drinks, make sure the wait staff knows.

We are having ours at Boma. We wanted to give everyone a different experience and a chance to try some new foods.

We're skipping the rehearsal dinner, so instead we're having an informal mixer/meet 'n' greet in the Solarium at Beach Club Villas from 4-6pm. We didn't want people to have to leave the parks on their only full day off for yet another wedding event, so we're telling them they don't have to come if they have other plans.

That is an awesome idea! Were you able to reserve the solarium at all, or are you just figuring it should be empty around that time of day?

We're figuring on empty at that time of day! Everything I've read on the DVC boards says the public areas of the DVC resorts are woefully underused. Plus, there are two other common areas that people can go to instead right nearby. :thumbsup2

On the other hand, Sunday is the biggest check-in day at DVC resorts, and people who don't get their rooms by 4pm may need a place to sit around stewing... hmmm....:scratchin

We're having our Rehearsel/Welcome Dinner at Whispering Canyon Cafe. Should be a riot!! :rotfl:
