Where are you from?

Shasess your daughter is beautiful. She looks really good in her cinderella dress. How old is she?

I like the way you put that.... I have a friend whose lived in NC for ~ 16 years but whenever someone asks for where she's from she always says Long Island, NY. I'll have to tell her that she been "visiting" NC for a while as well. :rotfl:

Back on topic: I am from Raleigh, NC :cheer2:

Where were you living prior to South Africa?

Yup, it's a long way... The most direct way is to take a direct flight to Atlanta (app. 18 hours!), and then a connection. But we hate the idea of staying in the plane for 18 straight hours, so we go through Europe, with at least a few hours between the two long-haul flights. My youngest dd keeps saying, instead of flying for so long, why don't we just go and live at dwd forever.

South Africa is beautiful: lots of very different places to visit: Cape Town - where the Atlantic and Indian oceans meet, safaris, big cities, lots of wild areas, and many different cultures. We have been living here for 6 years and have not seen everything yet. People are very friendly.

Trying my HARDEST to get to 500 posts. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel, but it seems to getting further away instead of closer :rotfl: I wanna learn that secret handshake already. Who here knows it?

Bremen, Germany

Im basically the only German on VMK I guess ;)

only found 2 other persons from Germany (but not actually German) on this board

Hi! :wave2: I'm not from Germany, but my mom is German (born there during WWII), and my husbands dad is from Germany as well (he moved here when he was three), so we're both half, and that makes both our kids half German too! We thought that was kind of cool. We are hoping to be able to take a trip to Europe before our youngest turns two, and I have family in Germany, my aunt, my cousin, and his kids, and my half uncle, and half cousins. Any suggestions for what to see?

Oh, by the way, I'm in Milton, Ontario, Canada, not too far from Toronto.

Hey y'all from a Georgian currently residing in the beautiful mountains of Asheville, NC.

I LOVE Asheville. It is such a beautiful place. My parents lived near Asheville when they first got married but then came back to IN to be closer to family. I always wished they had stayed there. We spent many summer vacations back in NC.

I am from DE here too, but down by the beach :sunny: . I am just a transplant though, moved here four years ago from New Jersey.
