We are going to Amelia Island in north Florida for a week in a beach house, with 15 family members...I can't wait we leave tomorrow and I am looking for some R&R with family....

So what are your plans for either your vacation/staycation?

We are staying home because we are under construction. (kitchen). The project has expanded like "The Blob". First it was one bathroom, but then since my hardwood floors extend from the kitchen to the hallway, to the foyer to another bathroom, we had to rip out the vanity and toilet there, so I can refinish those floors too. They are coming to sand and tomorrow they will put the first coat of poly (moisture cure) down. It is a huge mess, so what's some more dust?

Have a wonderful time. With all my time in Florida I have never set foot on one of the beaches yet, I can't seem to tear away from the theme parks. I hope you get good weather :thumbsup2

Most of our traveling for this year is done now. We did WDW, a 3 generation family trip to Aruba and a camping trip. We will also be visiting Rochester NY for a family wedding in a few weeks and will be visiting NYC in December.

DS and DH are sort if having a stay-cation with my FIL. They have gone fishing, went to the park, played mini-golf and rode paddle boats. I have been working! But I'm driving to see him today! Yea!!!

DH got a new job in May so no vacation time built up yet. The wonderful part of him taking this position, tho, is that he FINALLY has a M-F 9-5 job(before were all kinds of crazy hours) so we can actually do a lot of weekend or day trips. We have been gone pretty much every weekend this summer. We've gone to Harper's Ferry, the National Zoo, some local festivals and events, a train museum and on some crazy road trips that lead us to nowhere! We are planning a weekend camping trip and, for this weekend, we are trying to decide between a Hot Air Balloon Festival or going to one of our state parks for some beach time. I'm excited about either plan. We also have an Air show and our county fairs coming up.

Spent 8 wonderful days at the Polynesian in July...and that's it for our summer! ;)

I'm going to WDW for a girls only week in October for Food and Wine and then my husband and I are going to Egypt in November for 2 weeks.

I've already done a week at Disneyland, a week at WDW and 2 weeks in China this year so this has been the year of vacations.

We're going to Disney World and Universal for 9 days in September. Then we have a Disney Cruise in November. Then a cruise to Bermuda with friends next Summer, plus a motorcycle rally in PA, then a cabin weekend in October followed by another Disney Cruise next December.

I'm to stop counting down and start going!!!! :cool1:

We are staying at my parents holiday home on the east coast of England for a week with my SIL, BIL, niece and nephew. I am looking forward to spending time with them as we don't see them that often as they live 2 1/2 hours away and my BIL is Australian and has never seen that part of the country before. Plus it is always nice to go back to where you grew up (I don't live near there anymore.)

We had to stay in England this year as next summer we are going to Australia for a month and possibly going to WDW for Christmas and New Year!!

I'm taking the week of Labor Day off as a "stay-cation". I plan to use it as organizing time. Kids will be back at school, DH at work, and I have a dungeon of a basement that has my name on it for the week.

I plan to include reading and naps during the week, however, and most likely other household chores....:laundy:

Oh, and of course, :surfweb:

We are heading to downtown Austin this weekend, booked the Hilton Executive Level. We will be visting 6th street, the capital, and checking out all the bats:thumbsup2 Of course in Nov I am sneaking back to WDW for the F&W festival for a solo trip.

We just got back from St. Joseph, Michigan. It was so much fun. Unfortunately a man drowned just down the beach from us. I can't believe we didn't notice (it was a ways down the beach, but within eyesight), because 50 people made a human chain to find the body. :sad1:

So, that put a damper on things, but we still managed to have fun.

We had a baby and DH used he vacation time for that! I enjoyed our first whole week home from the hospital and even tho babies are lots of work it the best vacation I have ever had. :lovestruc

We went to Gatlinburg, TN in the beginning of May, rented a cabin and we had such a fun time. We're going back in December for 6 nights and renting a cabin with my parents, I'll be there for my 40th birthday. :)

Tennessee has become our new favorite vacation destination. :thumbsup2

We went on our first Disney Cruise in March, WDW in June, Washington DC over the Fourth of July, Gatlinburg in 2 weeks, WDW in October, and WDW again in December for 2 1/2 weeks!!!!!!!! We LOOOOOVE our vacations!!!!!! And it helps that my husband is self-employed!!!!!!! :thumbsup2

My DH can't get more then 2 days in a row off so it has been alot of local trips and a trip to Vegas. I wish we could go someplace tropical to tell you the truth. We let our disney passes expire when they doubled in price and had to do a payment plan to make them affordable. Something is wrong with that idea

We rented a house in Nags Head for a week in June, and we're thinking about WDW for a week in November.
