Where are the Dream and Fantasy Going?

I know Disney has cancelled sailings and changed itineraries, but where are they taking the ships to wait out the storm? Did I miss that?

The Dream & Fantasy along with other cruise ships are headed to the Yucatan Channel which is between Cuba and Cancun Mexico.

Not to make light of the horrible events going on but...could you imagine the horn battles?

Interesting image of the cruise ships headed for safety. It's easy to see where Irma is currently. The Dream says it is headed to the Yucatan channel, while the Fantasy is SW Cuba. I particularly liked to destination notation for the Enchantment of the Seas.

I think I saw one of the ships was on a cruise to nowhere.

That's a really solid thing to do. Keeps them out of the mayhem of northbound traffic or getting back southbound later, so it also works from a corporate standpoint of resuming operations next week (or whenever).

That's also a way to keep your employees productive... with special areas set up for people to continue working. It also builds company loyalty and morale.

Someone had asked why they didn't just sail east. The reason is Jose is right behind and is anticipated to have a much more easterly trajectory, meaning the ships would be bobbing about trying to race back to dock, which may or may not be open based on port conditions. West was the safest location for mariners.
