I have been to theme parks pretty much my whole life, however this time i have a child. where can i find mickey and all his friends in california adventure and the disneyland park?

another question are there CARS vehicles anywhere so i can take pictures with them?

we saw the Cars characters in DCA near the entrance to Golden Dreams. The times they appear is listed in the park map. We also saw Flik from it's a bug's life in Bugs Land near sIt's Tough to be A bug. There is also a cute show with Koda and Kenai from Brother Bear in the Redwood Challenge Creek. The characters remain out after the show. Again, the times are listed on the map.

In DL, there are usually characters right after the entrance on Main St. Mickey is in his house in ToonTown. There are plenty of characters at the ToonTown Magic show some mornings (Donald, Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto) but you need to have tickets that come with certain packages.

You could also do one of the character breakfasts. There are a number of different ones offered with different characters at each. The characters will come to your table, take pictures and sign autographs.

If you have a Disney Visa card, there is a Visa Meet & Greet at Ariel's Grotto in DCA offered in the mornings. We had our (free) picture taken with both Mickey & Pluto

Hmmmm well in DCA your not really gonna find Mickey and all of his friends there. I mean dont get me wrong you will see Mickey walking around, and occasionally Goofy and the occasional princess as Ariels Grotto is close by where you can see the princesses there too, but you will find these characters around the Hollywood backlot. You might see one of the other main characters in the Electrical parade but thats about it. The characters you will usually see around DCA is Hercules, Woody from Toystory, Jesse, Sully from Monsters inc, Cruella Du Ville, I've seen Hook, and the villians from Pinocchio, and recently they introduced Beaker and Bunson from the Muppets, but you will find them in the backlot as well. Oh and like Eeyore01905 just said Flick in a bugs land, and Koda and Kenai by the Grizzley run.

As for cars I havent seen them, but others on this board have mentioned that they roam DCA starting from Paradise Pier and go to the front entrace area around noon each day. They will stop occasionally for you, but its not like they have one set spot where they are parked for you to go up at any time and take pics.

We seen the Cars 2 days in a row nearly at the same spot in DCA on our last trip, once was across from golden dreams, the other time they were coming out from the big doors by burger invasion. It was really cool to see them driving down the street :lmao:

As for DCA characters, we seen: Meet the Robinson characters, The Incredibles, Sulley from Monsters Inc, Stitch, Goofy, Goliath (from Jojos circus ds 5 was thrilled!) Alice (hubby was thrilled  )erm that's all I can think of right now. They were almost all at the backlot area.

DL chars: Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy (all in their yomd outfits) in town square. Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto, Donald (toontown), Alice, Madhatter (in coca cola corner), Hook, Peterpan, Pinnochio, Fairy godmother, tigger, chip, minnie, max (at minnie & friends char breakfast) Capt Jack was out in New Orleans Square, We caught Dale out near city hall, Cruella was nearby as well but the kids wouldn't go near her, Pooh & Eeyore were in critter country, and we seen tink, belle, beast, timon, fairie (from cinderella I think), cinderella, sleeping beauty, Ariel was absent the day we seen the parade... those were all in the parade of dreams...

We were on a mission to fill up our autograph books, which we did plus had to buy a small one to catch the extras lol. We did most of the meets & 2 character breakfasts which had about 5 or more characters each. All these were out the week of 4-13 to 4-20. Also a good idea is to stop by city hall in the morning if you have a particular char you'd like to meet and they can tell you where they will be & when. We had to track Alice down this way since we got her pic on the first day but the pen broke and we couldn't get her autograph, we finally got her autograph to go in our book in dca the next day :woohoo:

We've seen Mickey and his friends many times in DCA. They often hang out in Sunshine Plaza and wear vacation clothes - Hawaiian shirts, etc. We had lots of fun with Goofy there one day - it wasn't crowded and he snuck up on us. Cracked up DS who didn't think a character could sneak up on us! Another good place for characters is in the Hollywood Backlot - we've met lots of Pixar characters, Belle, Cinderella, Mary Poppins. Finally, try inside the Animation Building. Inside we've met Mickey (in his sorcerer's apparel), Woody, Cinderella.

Also seen Lightning McQueen and Mater in front of Ca. Dreams. Not sure the time, we just stumbled on them a couple of times.
