Where are the best ticket prices?

Hi TandyR - you know - you could very well be right. I always get those cut-off ages mixed up. If the ticket SAYS 3-9 - then they are good for ages 3-9. Sorry.

Does anyone remember when a child pays adult prices at WDW buffets?

Also, did you all know this? If you buy a children's hopper and you go home with days left on it and the next time you go your child is over 9 you still can use the old hopper days without an additional charge? They say that Disney does not penalize children for growing older.

For Buffets is it under 3 years old eat free, 3-11 eat at children's rate and 12 and up eat at the adults rate.

I knew about the fact Disney doesn't penalize kids for growing up and in our 2006 trip (we are going for our DD10 b-day) I am planning to get a Children's 7 day park hopper plus pass....she will be 9 when we get there and 10 when we leave and I know we won't use all the days that trip so we will get them upgraded for her then, but this info is always good say again for people who don't know.

Thanks, mur, for the info. Does anyone know if AAA prices include tax? If so, they seem to be the cheapest...$202 for a four day hopper.

Dopey Sharon: AAA varies from state to state and club to club. The prices I've found listed on AAA do not include tax; in fact, if I were to buy them here in TN, they add TN tax which is substantially higher than FL tax, so they wind up costing more than they would if I bought them at the local Disney Store which charges FL tax - not local tax. I found better deals at discount sites like FloridaOrlandoTickets and Ticketmania. And it depends on which ticket you are looking for - Ticketmania is good for the 4 and 5 day tickets, FloridaOrlando has them beat on the 6 PHP and up. It pays to check them all out.

I just got back from buying park hoppers for my next trip (just got my tax return and thought I would buy the tickets now before the price went up) and I went to the local AAA so no shipping cost and got:
Adult 5 day park hoppers for 218.52, Child 5 day park hopper for 173.20 and a Child's 6 day park hopper plus for $210 tax all included in those prices.

Those are great prices....you must have a low tax rate! At my AAA the base price for a child's 6 PHP before taxes was $217.95, by the time they add taxes it raised it to $238.11. The base for an Adult 5 day was $212.95, with tax $232.65.

I thought all AAA offices were reciprocal and members can utilize the same services from any state's office. Also, I thought items purchased in one state and shipped to another state are not subject to sales tax. So theoretically it's perfectly legit to purchase the least expensive passes form another state, pay no sales tax, and often AAA doesn't charge members for shipping. But of course, this is subject to the whims and interpretation of the AAA representative you deal with.
On a related matter, I was able to book MOWC resort at a Canadian Automobile Club discount on Expedia that was far lower than the AAA rate. (Over a $100/night difference!) I called AAA and was assured that the organizations are completely reciprocal and the rate should be honored. I just hope the Resort check-in desk knows that. I'm bringing the doccumentation from AAA just in case.

To the quote above, what is the cut off date? I have a 9 yr old and we are going to WDW in June, she turns 10 in Dec, so if I go when she is 11 or 12 will the above still be the case, or have I waited too late? Must she be 9,purchase tickets, then go the next yr (10), and it is ok?
This is a deal, so I was thinking buy the most ticket you can for her at age 9 (say a 6 day hopper or 7 day), then use it over the next 2 years.

Now you know nothing is cheaper in Westchester!!!!!!!

This was through Georgia AAA. They told me this price included tax. I'm still waiting for the AP rates before I purchase any PH, but if Georgia doesn't come through for me I'll call Tandyc in Maine!

Hi deerh!

You should purchase the ticket that is appropriate at the time of your Disney trip. So if you are going to WDW in June and she is 9 - then buy a child's ticket. Any days left will can be used by your daughter on any future Disney visits - even though she is older than 9.

This thread is very interesting and educating for me. I'm surprised that no one suggested Omar from Maple Shade or something like that. He claims to have the lowest and best prices (with tax). But after looking at floridaorlandotickets.net and tickemania, boy is he wrong.

I am AAA member and I have to say that my experience is like others on this thread. I am a NJ res (of course with my email ID right? The 5 day park hoppers are like 225 for adult yet others in different states are getting lower prices.

I don't think I'll go with AAA on those tickets, I'll probably take the advice to go to the websites listed above.

Wow, TandyR - those are better prices than AAA's website! Which local office did you use? I may have to purchase next year's tickets now!

What I did because I was cheap and didn't want to pay the shipping that was on the web site ($4). I knew I was going to be driving right by the Portland branch of AAA (on Marginal Way) at some point and when I did I would buy the tickets. When I finally did go in the person looked in the computer and said the tickets she had turned out to be cheaper then what was listed. So a little drive not even out of my way saved me more then the $4 I was looking to save.

hey cmommy i see your from westchester im in mahopac putnam county borders westchester. Well anyways back to the question i use ticketmania with the mousesaver discounts and seems very good.
