Hi! We have 3 park hoppers that have never been used as our friends decided not to go on the last trip in February. Where are they? They showed up on my account with the old my Disney experience as “unassigned” but now they are gone

Very likely, they have fully "expired" and can't be used, as-is, at the parks anymore.
The old tickets become "invisible" (to the guest) inside a guest's MDE account, but Disney can still "see" them.
What happens now is that you can still use their original full value toward the purchase of NEW tickets for use on a future WDW trip.
You can call Disney and ask for those ticket numbers (and original value) and you can make your own file of this info to save until needed.
When you're ready to buy future tickets, you can call Disney and utilize the old tickets' value as part of the new ticket purchase.
God forbid that Disney would let anyone save a nickel. It is really getting unbearable to me. I'm afraid that the place that I obsessed overt for almost 40 years is no longer a part of my real life. Websites, sure, but that is just fantasy. I loved my years of travel to my haven known as WDW with family and solo for most of the last 20 years. My trip to Anaheim to see Disneyland on it's 50th Anniversary and my taking a detour from Paris to take a train to Disneyland Paris. It was as much a part of my adult life as my marriage and my children and almost equal in importance. But, that was then and this is now and Disney is no longer even in the discussion anymore. I just don't have the energy.
