This is for everyone who is doing or has done an intimate wedding. Where did you or do you plan on doing your after ceremony dinner? We're getting married at Dolphin/Swan in November. We've looked at Fulton's and doing a mini reception at Swan/Dolphin, but its all too expensive. Any other suggestions where we might be able to have a private room? If no private room, then at least a place to eat that is elegant would be amazing! TIA ~Jess

I think we are going to be dining at the California Grill-that's where he proposed- or at Ohana's since it is buffet style and the men in my family can eat a lot.

We are having dinner at Yachtsman Steakhouse and then a Wishes Cruise....Only 13 more days, we can't wait!! :cloud9: :woohoo:

We did dinner at Yachtsman, then went back to our room and collapsed. Even with a 3pm wedding we were exhusted. (It also took almost an hour to check-in so that alone was enough to kill any energy we might have had to go back out.)

We're having dinner at California Grill, then watching the Wishes show from the balcony of the restaurant

We had dinner at Yachtsman Steakhouse. It was 8:30 pm when we got done, we went back to our garden suite and then our guests left us. We had our MK shoot the next morning.

We are thinking about booking Citricos as we are getting married in Disney's Wedding Pavilion and the reception afterwards is in the Grand Floridian, so it makes sense but ive heard nothing but good things about the Yachtsman.
Hope this helps, there are so many options, im still confused!

We are having an Illuminations Dessert Party the night before our wedding , which is at SBP and then after the ceremony we are having dinner at Maya Grill at Coronado Springs (That's where we are staying). We thought it would be the easiest as far as transportation etc. and the food is really good!!!

We are getting married at Sunset Pointe at the Poly. We are having dinner at Ohana's & then going to our room (also on site the Poly) to change & head out to Pleasure Island :woohoo: to celebrate!!!!

We decided to move our wedding time up to the am. Right after the cake cutting we are going to turn everyone loose since I know they'll be anxious to get to the parks. Then we'll meet up with everyone that evening at either epcot or MK and watch the fireworks. We're letting everyone fend for themselves when it comes to dinner. My sis is vegan, my dad likes steak, my mom hates steakhouses, and my grandpa has digestive issues. I think its best to let them choose their own places to dine

Hmmm....still trying to decide this one. We are thinking about going to the Yachtsman Steakhouse afterwards. The only thing I have against this is the fact that I am getting married at the GF at the Wedding Pavilion. None of the places at GF really spark my interest too much (except for V & A's, and DF and I will be doing that later on in our honeymoon, plus, I don't want to have to dip into my wedding $$$ for that pricey of a meal). The other place we are looking into is the California Grill, which is a lot closer than the Yachtsman, but is still at a different hotel. Also, I am concerned that the CG will not be as quiet and intimate as the Yachtsman. :confused3 :confused3 Luckily, I still have some time to decide! Good luck with your choices!!! princess:

TexasCourt, the Cali Grill is only a short monorail ride from the GF. :thumbsup2
We are considering the Cali grill and having in coincide with Wishes. DF and I haven't eaten there yet, but going down in May for a vk/planning/scoping. We plan to eat there one night. Our other option is Yachtsman followed by Illuminations dessert recpetion.

If you are getting married at the Swan/Dolphin may I suggest Palio's. This is our favorite place to eat while staying at the Swan, amazing Italian food (and my DBF grew up in Italy so knows what he is talking about), romantic/quiet atmosphere, and there is a strolling violinist. I am sure they could allot an area of the restaurant (maybe they have a private room?) for you and your party. I would then suggest Epcot fireworks, of course!
By the way, which intimate package did you select from Just Marry (just curious)? I love the Swan! Our last stay this March we saw an intimate wedding take place in the courtyard below..beautiful.

when was that? ;)

Swan and Dolphin restaurants sure isn't your everyday Disney hotel restaurants. it felt like 4 star hotel dining (with 4 star pricing). So too bad they don't take DDE :confused3

Palio's doesn't have a private room to dine. but if you have enough people I believe they can arrange to section off a place for your party.
If you want a lunch reception, they might let you use Palio as your reception site as they're not open for lunch. But just have to be catered.

off-topic, if you're staying at swan/dolphin, remember the club level rooms will be gone. so find all the discounts you can get for the regular rooms, ask for lake(or facing broadwalk) view and upper levels have nice views.

I saw the wedding first week of March in Swan courtyard. Small party, violinist, there was a little dancing. I walked by the cake when walking through the hall in the Swan that passes by the courtyard and it all looked very beautiful!

We customized out package to fit us. Just Marry has been wonderful as far as what we want for our wedding. I just went for a site visit 3 weeks ago and it was absolutely amazing. Its beautiful. So don't worry Groom2b! Everything looks great! My fiance and I are on a strict budget, how much does it cost to eat at Palio's?

Hi JessHooper, Here is the Palio wedding link from allears:
http://www.allearsnet.com/menu/menu_p.htm

Everything we have ever had there is wonderful. They start your meal off with a complimentary small cup of wine to begin your meal with a "salut!" They have a great selection of breads with fresh garlic and oil for dipping (complimentary). We have always enjoyed their thin crust pizza for an affordable meal. But their entrees are also tasty..as you can see there are mid-range prices and then if you have an entree with fish or meat it gets pricier. We have had both the tiramisu (pricey but delicious) and this last time a raspberry sorbet that was to die for with a thin slice of chocolate as a garnish. It was as close to the real Italian gelato as you can get. Maybe they can create a menu for your party from their dinner menu and remove the prices? And of course the wine selection is out of this world.
let me know if you do pursue this and how they accomodate your needs. :)
