Where and when Wisonsin Dells

With kids ages 5 and 1, I would say Great Wolf. I think Kalahari is the best overall, but my kids are older. The waterparks at the Wilderness are spread out all over the place. And in recent years it has really seemed like Wilderness is declining, in my opinion. The waterparks seem dirty and I couple of times I have been really grossed out. The rooms are starting to show wear, as well.

With kids your ages, Chula Vista would be my second choice. The suites with full kitchens are reasonable, and GREAT for a family with little ones. The water park is also on the smaller side, so very manageable with little kids.

This is exactly what I'd say, too. :)

Just had time to look up some pics i took for a friend from Kalahari little kids pool area only - shot with a cell phone - poor quality.

Would be nice to see some pics from Great Wolf...

We like to go in the winter and stay at Glacier Canyon (part of Wilderness). The 2 bedroom presidential room(s) is incredible and perfect for our family of 4. Plenty to do inside: waterparks, arcades, minigolf, laser tag, kid play area, ceramics, etc. Shuttles are super convenient and you never have to wait long.

We always start our trip at Moose Jaw and DH brings his "growler" and has it refilled. Monk's is a favorite also.

Have fun!!

We stayed at the Wilderness for $99 a night Jan 2nd. Also, it was my DD birthday month and we got a coupon in the mail for $15 off.

we also bought the wilderness card that gave us discounts for ice cream and 2 games of mini golf some credits for the arcade and the haunted house Never a dull moment.

go right to their website and sign up for the birthday club. They will send coupons right away if your birthday is coming up.

Don't count out Kalahari do to price - sign up for their email list and follow them on Facebook as they run a lot of specials!

Best time is not in the summer or at least go just after school lets out or just before it starts from summer. I have stayed at all of the larger resorts with Kalahari for the indoor water park and Mt Olympus for the outdoor go carts and roller coasters being our favorites. It also depend on the ages of your kids because if they are younger like under 10 some of the smaller less expensive parks are really nice for that age too. All the hotel sites post deals about 3 months ahead of time and the sooner you book the cheaper it will be. HTH

Just saw the kids ages and agree with this completely. :thumbsup2 I do think Chula vista specials will give you the least expensive trip.

We almost stayed there & then found out 1/2 the stuff wasn't working. The story goes (friend of a friend who manages a restaurant up there) new owners took over a previously well run place, and are now short on money. And now maintenance & cleanliness have fallen by the wayside.

Oh no! That really is too bad! It is not a huge place and not a lot of "new" furnishings and whatnot but it was cute and quaint and fairly clean when we stayed there years ago...it really was previously a nice little resort. Great for families who wanted amenities without the huge burden of having a lot of spread out activities.

I have stayed at the Wilderness (Glacier Canyon Lodge). IT WAS AMAZING!! We had a 3br presidential suite with three baths and a balcony as large as my kitchen at my house!!! It was A M A Z I N G. I got it for 699 for 5 nights off of ebay! (Summer prices are much higher but we went in March). I did not mind all the waterparks spread out all over the resort area. They have little shuttles that were very timely and very cute! (My 3 yo loved them!) I cannot s

Knuckleheads indoor amusement park is fun! Lots of games!

YOU HAVE TO EAT AT PAUL BUNYAN'S!! Breakfast is AWESOME!!

We love Moosejaw!

We also like the go-carts in town.

In the summer you can take boat tours, go to Noah's Ark water park, ride the Ducks,
There is a lot to do there...

I have also been to the Kalahari and it was nice but now that my kids are older, I liked that the Wilderness had SO MANY options for everyone from my 2 yo to my 16 yo!

Hope that helps. We love the Dells and to 1 if not 2 times a year!
