I am considering the following stay at MARRIOTT GRANDE VISTA
2 bedroom and 2 bath on FRIDAY AND SATURDAY. $144 pernight
TRIPLE AAA RATE, not 2 bad. I do not think.

Then staying sunday-MONDAY,total of 8 days at BCV 2 bedroom and 2bath using my points?

does anyone have any recommendation, of anything better, than this?
Price Is very attractive don't u agree?

I am looking 4 recommendations on CONDOS, not just hotel rooms

THank u very much.

I should have made it clear, does anyone have a recommendation on better location and price, than MARRIOTT GRAND VISTA

looking 4 help on condos not hotel rooms

tHANK U

Recently got a great rate ( $89 plus tax) for a 2 bedroom unit at Summerfield suites. That was on a 72 hour sale so I doubt it's quiet as good a deal now.

It's a hassle. Why not borrow points from next year for the full 10 day stay??? Or rent them if necessary. JMHO. I know that some try to avoid DVC on the weekends. We prefer to stay there for the entire duration of our vacations:D :D ..........

That's a pretty good price. You could also try calling Marriott's Vacation Club at 1-800-259-1104. If you are willing to sit through a 90 minute or so timeshare presentation during your stay, you can get a really good price on a room. Two years ago we stayed at a 2BR in their Cypress Harbour resort for $69 per night. Plus they threw in 4 tickets to Sea World, which is about a $200 value.

I ahve thought renting the 150 points 2 stay on weekend as one reply has suggested but that is $1,350 at a mimum.

at $288 4 2nights at MARRIOTT GRANDe VISTA, am I missing something?

is the moving around more trouble than I REALIZe

Soulds like a great deal. One option that we've used is the Dolphin and Swan. They have some great special rates, and although your moving, your still in the crescent lake vicinity, there's still the Disney majic when arriving at the resort.

We're going to try the Marriott Courtyard for two weekend days to see what that's like next to Downtown Disney.

I understand not wanting to use the points for weekends, that's why the point structure is set up the way it is, so the at least twice as desirable weekend days aren't always taken. It's really a good system.

But I think your plan of checking out the competing Marriott timeshare is a great one, I believe they have transportation to and from the central transportation hub. At $144, thats a great deal. Go for it.

Check out DIS for great hotel and suite deals.

There are many choices. We live 4 hours away so we usually just stay the 5 nights (S-F). Our favorite choices for weekends include staying at other Disney resorts and trying the Universal Resorts. I've also seen many cheap options at some of the mid level hotels around along with some of the timeshares and condo type resorts (Caribe Royale). The Swan and Dolphin along with the Village hotels have some great deals at times. I've seen the Grovesnor for $44 per night.

Since you own MVCI in FL, you could also use the FL club option.

If the moving is not a hassle for you, I would say go for the Marriott. We spent one night at the Grande Vista last summer and it was very nice. The rooms were much bigger than BWV, but I did miss the atmosphere! If you decide to go there, why not spend the day at SeaWorld or Discovery Cove? The Grande Vista is a very short drive to both of those places.

We stayed at Parkway international in 97 before we purchased OKW. We liked it a lot. It ahad a Safari decor. The pool was ok. The walk to the pool was neat. They had a trail threw a wooded area. Jungle music was playing. Although the walk was fun I did not let my children go to the pool by thierself at night. I think I paid $89 per night. That was with a special.
Thanks Tigger

For the what would be paid for a week's at this price, you could also buy a week there. I've seen multiple listings for in the range of $2500.

I own at Grande Vista. Do you have kids? They have an indoor play area. They also have a great kids night out program where you can leave the kids from 5 to 10 p.m. and they get to play in the indoor play area, make science projects or some other theme, have pizza, and get free tokens for the game room. I think it was $25 for the first and $20 for the second child.

To get an idea about what we like, we have stayed at the following places:

Boardwalk Villas -- one bedroom. (Location, of course, is superior here, but I liked the kids activities much more at GV. The bathrooms and spaciousnees are superior at GV as well. Thought about owning here but didn't want to lock in at just one or two places as the kids get older. Our favorite place to go on Disney property. The Epcot location is the best.)

Wilderness Lodge Villas -- one bedroom (Hated this place! Bus service was atrocious. Landscaping was horrendous (admittedly after a frost). Checkin took an HOUR! Price was ludicrous. Tiny!)

Grand Floridian -- nice, V&A chef's table is fab, but Portofino is nicer -- especially the pool, even with the GF's new pool. Of course, location can't be beat at the GF, and the lobby is stunning.

Portofino Bay -- very nice, especially the kids suite. Pool is only second to Yacht & Beach club. I LOVE the beds here!

Poly -- stayed here before the new pool. Nice, but I don't like dark brown that much.

Beach Club -- got a half balcony. Didn't like it, except for the pool.

Yacht Club -- beats Beach Club hands down with the full balconies.

Kids can't wait to go back to Grande Vista three bedroom!

You can also try some great restaurants that are off property and visit Universal or Seaworld. I would recommend Bahama Breeze!
