I love Rodgers and Hammerstein. Oscar lived in our town when he wrote manyof those musicals. A little trivia, he was trying to locate James Michener to secure the rights for South Pacific not realizing that he lived a few miles from him. Stephen Sondheim used to visit his house as a boy and Oscar was his inspiration. Oscar had a flag he would send up the flagpole, which meant all the kids in the neighborhood could come over and play or swim, when his wife wasn't home. She didn't love the kids as much as he did.
