When you're driving and you see a police (cop) car...

...do you automatically look at your speedometor? ;)

Do you have that sense of guilt anyway knowing full well that you haven't actually done anything wrong?

I always have that rush of "guilty" - EVERY single time! :p

I go straight for the brakes! No matter where I am with respect to the speed limit! And I get that cold fearful rush of feeling! HATE THAT!

I speed up and race to get the last jelly donut

j/k

Hit the brakes

I always step on the brakes right away just in case. :teeth:

I wave. Chances are I know them.:moped: Plus that freaks out anyone behind me as they think I may be one. (Used to be::MickeyMo )

Yes, everytime. I don't even know why. I'm not even a speeder.

I never hit the brakes because I think that it'll make me look guilty, I just take my foot of the gas and slow a little.

Always, because I'm always speeding, even if just a little.

I usually have to hit the brakes because the people in front of me all hit the brakes! LOL! Otherwise I just slow down, if I am over the speed limit. :moped:

I just keep on doing whatever I was doing.

I hate when people slow down and won't pass a police car.

Yes, and then I lift my foot from the accelator. Never hit the brake, it's a big red glowing guilt meter.

I never look at it. I just brake...gently. If he's going in the opposite direction, I make sure my foot is off the brake before he can see my back lights. :teeth:

I put on my clutch, take my foot off the accelerator, then I look at my speedometer.;)

I admit to glancing at the speedometer. I guess it's force of habit. I dont slow down though unless I'm at least five miles over the limit. I think it's hilarious when people doing the speed limit slam on their brakes when they see a cop. If you're doing the speed limit, they aren't going to come after you. All you have done is to slow up traffic.

Another pet peeve. People who slow down when they see a cop giving a ticket. Newsflash... the cop is not going to stop writing that ticket to come after you. He can only do one thing at a time. I will slow down however if the cop is standing next to the road (i.e. by the drivers window), as a safety precaution. I've heard way too many stories of cops being hit by cars while writing tickets.

THANK YOU!

Yup, and I watch them in my mirror(s) 'cause I'm scared to death they're gonna pull me over for SOMETHING I'm going wrong.

One day, they're gonna pull me over for staring at them in the mirror :)

:p In fact just today  I was about 2mph over 55. The guy in front of me must have been 5+mph over.

I look at how fast I am going and usually very quickly have to take my foot off the accelerator because I am a very bad speeder. I won't go below the speed limit, but I will so the speed limit past the officer and for the rest of the day. I know one of these days I will be busted.

Ahh. My mom does that all the time. It definitely only makes a person look more guilty if they're not doing the speed limit.
As for me. I always check out the speedometer, and watch in my mirror. I also tend to get a little shaky. Not sure why; I always just expect them to pick on a teenage driver who doesn't appear old enough to drive so I always worry about it (I'm one of the drivers you can just barely see over the steering wheel. Places still try to sell me childrens tickets, even though I'm 17). But since I don't go more the 5mph over the speed limit I can't see why they'd be pulling me over. Here in NH, most people are going 15-20 over the speed limit, on a slow day, so cops shouldn't have any reason to bother me.
