When you're driving and you see a police (cop) car...

...do you automatically look at your speedometor? ;)

Do you have that sense of guilt anyway knowing full well that you haven't actually done anything wrong?

I always have that rush of "guilty" - EVERY single time! :p

Always!

In fact, it's the same feeling I get crossing the border. I have never lied, smuggled or done anything else wrong, and yet get me to the border and I feel like an illegal immigrant smuggling cocaine in the back of a stolen truck.

I slam on my break, and turn on the Christain radio station and get a peacfull look on my face. :D

JoNo, were they using their lights AND sirens? Anyway, I don't know the State Statute on that. I will have to cosult with my expert. ;)

And Florida also has that law about getting over in the other lane or slowing down if there is a police officer on the side of the road. However, I have NEVER seen anyone actually obey this law. :(

It might help if you throw your seatbelt on you as you go by him/her too.;)

My heart falls right into my stomach the minute I spot one! I DO look at my speedometer, and I am usually amazed that I am not speeding.

I do automatically slow down, but I also wave. There's a good chance that I know the officer.

Jess

I don't slow down but my son pointed out to me that everytime I drive by a cop I scratch my nose....weird huh? Must be some sort of nervous twitch or itch or whatever:rolleyes: .

I don't hit the brakes but do take my foot off of the accelerator. DH pointed out that if the cop notices the front end of your car making an obvious dip, he's more likely to single you out. Also, if you're going with the flow of traffic, you don't want to be rear-ended.

I hit the brakes and watch the rear view mirror very carefully. :o

I usually speed up and try to get away as I am usually speeding hehe. Just kidding I usually do nothing I usually drive about 10 K over the posted limit remember kilometers per hour here in Canada. We never get bothered byt he cops unless you are doing 25 over or more.

Always check to see how far OVER the limit I am ...then I keep my fingers crossed...

No, but I typically curse out all the people in front of me who slow down 10 miles below the speed limit when they see the cop.

PEOPLE! (and you know who you are! :teeth: ) You do not get extra goodie goodie special citizen for a day points for driving BELOW the speed limit. In fact, you may get your slow butt pulled over for creating a traffic hazard!!! :duck:

Even when I'm not speeding, I get a rush and my heart starts racing. I immediately step on the brakes. Gosh, they scare me.

I don't give it much thought. I'll wave around home since I know most of the locals.

In 42 years of driving I've never even been pulled over. Not that I shouldn't have sometimes, but I'm generally a good driver. Now that I've jinxed myself I'll probably be pulled over on the way home in the morning. :bitelip:

I always touch the brakes & even tho I may not be speeding, still get that fear & the heart beat fastens up.

nope brakes imply you are guilty. I ease off the gas, and sort of coast.
