When your luggage tags for ME don't arrive in time?

Our son and his gf are flying out on Sat. and we have yet to get the ME stuff. :eek: We are driving down on Friday but they are flying so I made reservations weeks ago for them to use ME. The main reason we chose ME for them was for the suitcases to arrive at the resort without them having to pick them up at baggage since our son had back surgery on June 5th. So....unless they show up today or tomorrow that won't be the case. Can they still use ME without the ME paperwork? What do they do now? Or should I just hire a car service?

There's a sticky thread at the top of the main page of this transportation forum that will tell you how to do it. It's basically named DME and luggage tag info. I'm on my phone and can't capture the URL or I would link it for you. But yes you can still use it without tags. I would make sure they are actually signed up for DME though!
 
You go to the DME desk. Describe you bags. I'm not sure if you give them your claim tags or if they make a copy. I'd take a picture of the bags with either your camera or camera phone. Might make it easier to describe the bags.

Not required, just a suggestion, I'd put a tag on the bags with your resort number. Want to be creative, create some kind of tag which sort of looks like a DME tag. Might make it easier for a CM to pull the bag.

CALL DME TODAY. I don't know if DME will pay for second day delivery but even first class mail will get to most of the country in a few days.
 
Like the previous posters have said, the tags are not required. But I would call today to make sure they have you in the system.
 

Call DME just to make sure they have your family in the system. When they arrive at MCO they can just go to the DME counter and tell the CM that you want to have DME get the bags a d get them to the resort. They will ask for the bag claim receipts so they can copy them and use them just in case there is an issue. I would put something unique on each bag.......bright ribbons for instance.
Many people do this with no issues at all.
