When your favorite products are discontinued.....

Doesn't it just make you crazy?

I probably sound like a loon, but here goes my rant....a few months ago, I found out that a product my DH and I love called Wyler's Soup Starter/Beef Stew has been discontinued. That stuff was awesome!!! I sent a few emails to Heinz, who owns Wyler's, but naturally got no reply.

OMG!!! I love that stuff. They used to make a Beef Barley and it was wonderful.

Yes, I hate that too...our favorite steak sauce has been discontinued- a garlic sauce from Benihana that they sold at the grocery store.

I also miss Coconut Bay scent from Yankee, although occasionally I can find it.

When I was a kid they had these corn chips with BBQ filling- kindof like Combos pretzels. Man, I loved those.

Sorry to hear, it does stink when things are discontinued!

My favorite perfume was discontinued years ago, but luckily I can still find a few on Ebay. I stocked up on it and most likely won't have to buy any for awhile now.

The Cold Cream you might be able to find on ebay.

I thought this was a great idea and jumped right over to ebay! If only I could find my favorite, favorite perfume wouldn't everything be right with the world!!! I have missed it for years....it was the only perfume that I've ever worn where total strangers would stop and ask what I was wearing. This was many, many years ago - circa 1982...but I will never forget the scent. I still have an empty container that I will sniff every once in a while - making certain I don't use up the air....

And true to ebay reputation I found it!!!! Who would think there is someone out there willing to sell 2/3 of a bottle? Or better yet, a new mint in box for sale - opening bid $189 or buy it now for $269.

But somehow I just can't bring myself to spend $200 on a 20+ year bottle of cologne!!! So much for it being my all time favorite!!!

Hanes her way had a certain sports bra that I really loved and they've discontinued it!!!
I also used to love this stuff called Chicken Tonight. It was made by Ragu. It was so good!!!

I miss Ludens licorice cough drops.

You and my DH! Vermont Country Store still sells them, but you have to buy 10 boxes at a time. I found Squirrel Nut Caramels there.

They also carry lots of stuff that people can't find anyplace else - Evening in Paris cologne, all kinds of (used to be) penny candy, soaps. People will request products and, if there is enough demand, they will search and offer them.

It's worth looking!

Oh, yeah, I forgot about my other favorite product that was discontinued:
Stove Top Dinners. AARRGGHH. They were wonderful & SUPER easy. Great for making an easy meal after work. Of course, as is the story of my life, they were discontinued. I called & complained (and begged) Kraft to keep selling them, but of course, my answer was "sorry".

About 9 or 10 years ago Pillsbury made a product that you put on top of cake batter before baking. There were 3 flavors. One had choc chips and a chocolate crunchy oreo type topping. Another was caramel and chocolate and the 3rd was a Vanilla crunch type with some kind of nutty topping.
These were so good mixed over a Duncan Hines cake mix!

Mallo Cup candy bars. Miss them too. Although I hear you can still get these in the North East.

I liked the Hazelnut scent at Bath & Body - discontinued

I loved the Sea Delico Pizza that Pizzeria Uno made - don't make it any longer

I loved the Olga "full bottom" panties that didn't ride up - don't make them any more.

My fav B&BW scent is Plumeria and of course is discontinued.....except they still have it during the big sales so I have stocked up. The cabinet under my sink looks like an outlet store!

I still miss Rely Tampons. They were discontinued back in the 70's due to causing TSS, but I still miss them.

Then TAB had the nerve to add nutrasweet.. TAB was the last hold out of 100% saccrine.... I bought cases of the stuff until I couldnt find it anymore.

Lady speed Stick unscented... I ran out of my stash a couple of months ago and I still ahvent found a perfect replacement.

Lauren perfume in the tall dark red bottle. I might have to ebay this... but I wonder how long fragrances last..

C.W. Napkin a pizza delivery place on the north side of Chicago used to have these over the top egg rolls with this 'oh my gosh' horseraddish sauce. I still morn the loss of these.... lol

I LOVED Chicken Tonight....My mom used to sing the song every time she bought it...

My DH misses something that was made by Pop Secret...it was half popped popcorn...It came in a can, and it sold for about 3 mo, then just disappeared...He still misses it.

I'm irritated DISNEY discontinued the Classic Mickey Mouse kitchenware I was collecting for a Mickey kitchen I am hoping to do.

I ended up with:
12 place settings
8 glasses
4 flatware settings

I really wanted service for 16, 12 to keep in circulation and 4 for backup when something breaks (you know something always does!)

Grrrr...now they have that Mickey pattern with his shoes, shorts, etc. that I don't like as much!

Fortunately, I think I can still get the pizzelle iron, waffle iron, and toaster.

My DH just loved the Cinnamon Struesel Swirl bundt cake....and infact, just last week I went nuts through Meijers and Farmer Jack looking for the cake mix to surprise him for his BD....I had no idea they were discontinued...LOL!!!!

Just to name a few products of mine that are discontinued:

Maybeline eyeliner...but found another....and they discontinued that one too!!!

My Cover Girl eyeshadow (although I did find it on ebay and bought quite a few....but am on my last one)

Optima II eye shadow base

Back To Basics brand "Hair Be Thick" texturizer

Low Carb Tostitoes (not sure if the discontinued them...but I can't find them anywhere anymore!!)

Banana Boat Glitter gel (but found some on EBay...think I have a whole bottle left)

They also stopped selling my only perfume I wear "Lou Lou" in the states although I can buy it from some online places....and in Canada

PDQ (the chocolate crunchy sprinkle things) I think it was made by carnation....havent seen it in YEARS though....use to love it on icecream when I was little.

Oh...and Carnation breakfast bars (chocolate chip)

and Edys Homemade brand Chocolate chip icecream(had nestles choc pieces)

My son has used Solo contact solution for years and it was recently discontinued. he has really sensitive eyes and we were worried we would not find a replacement solution.

Hamberger Helper Oven Favorites Meatloaf and Soft Taco Bake, soooo good and even asked the manager of the Food Fair and he said they weren't on his order list.

Avon was always discontinuing my lipstick shade.

And the worst is when your favorite is marked: NEW AND IMPROVED, and it never is.
