When Your Favorite Chain Restaurant Closes

I am in mourning today.

Our closest Don Pablo's shut it's doors.

Best Mexican food in a chain restaurant around here IMHO.

BUT - at least there's still another one, just a farther drive.

Do you get bummed when your favorite chain restaurant closes?

Sometimes, if one closes, I don't really care - but this one - well, I love it so much, it's affecting my day.

Anyone remember Chi-Chi's?? They had the BEST soft taco.
I remember when the waits to even get sat in that place would be 2 hours on a Friday or Saturday night.

The American Cafe in my town closed awhile ago. RIP, delicious Buffalo Chicken salad.

Our Chi-Chis was the last one to close. We loved going there, and still miss it. My DS8 will still comment on it when we drive by where it was, and it has been over 2 years now.

Maybe it's because I live in TX, but I've never trusted chain Mexican/Tex-mex food

I do sympathize, however. I hate it when my favorite places close. A local diner closed a few years back, and I still mourn their awesome grilled chicken sandwich.

I used to work at Chi-Chi's. So did my now DH. That's where we met. I LOVED working there and I LOVED the food. Never got sick of it, ate it everyday for years. I miss it.

I'd be sad if our local Don Pablos closed. We like eating there. Hopefully something good will come in its place.

Chi-Chi's was my favorite. I miss it. We have no Don Pablo's but every time we are in Pa. I make sure to eat there! Love that place.

In the same building as my apartment was a Fellini's italian cafe, and they shut their doors a few weeks ago. i was crushed! Now where will I go when I want pizza during a blizzard?

I have only been to one Chi-chi's - it was in Orlando actually! Pretty close to WDW. not sure if it is still there.

My Dh would be in serious mourning if our Don Pablo's closed.

We had our On The Boarder close when we lived in CT, we were both very upset over that one!

I have only been to one Chi-chi's - it was in Orlando actually! Pretty close to WDW. not sure if it is still there.

You must be speaking about the one that was on 192. Sadly, that one closed several years ago and there have been several different businesses in and out of that place.
They used to have a great buffet there for lunch with the best taquitos. I so wish Chi Chis would open back up in the states.

Really? I didn't think there were ANY left open. It's funny because we can buy the Salsa and some of the other food products with their name on it in the grocery stores, but no restaurants.

I'm still mourning the closure of our local Uno's. I just loved the salad & the deep dish pizza. There were only 2 here on Long Island, this one was 5 minutes away. The other one is far away. The building is still there, it makes me sad to go past it.
