I avoid saying oh my God unless it's for a serious reason. So I say oh my gosh.

This is so funny, reminds me of the Jessica/Nick MTV newlywed show when one episode (they went snow skiing) all Jess said was "OH MY GAW" and left it at that and everyone on the show, Nick, Drew, Drew's wife were all yelling at her to STOP saying OH MY GAW!!!! Jess said she did NOT want to say GOD! :lmao:

IRL, I'll usually say "Oh, my goodness. Oh, my goodness!" in a little girl voice like that kid from Annie. Just because I live to annoy people. But if I type out OMG, I'm usually referencing the man upstairs...and I don't mean Joe on the second floor.

I guess it depends on to whom I'm speaking...if it's a stranger or someone with whom I have a more "formal" relationship, I'll say "gosh" or "goodness."

I don't say "OMG", but when I see it typed I think the person is saying oh my God, and it bothers me a little.

I don't ever say it. About the closest thing I might say would be Oh my word.
But normally I just say Oh Man

I don't know why but when I say it I think GAWD, I don't really think of my Holy Father. I am trying to break myself from saying it but it's a habit.

Oh My Golly. Kidding, I just wanted to be different. I don't actually use that phrase IRL. Instead I use OMW.

I say Oh my god far too much - it's a bad habit. My MIL is horrified when I do and refuses to let my kids say it when they are with her. Guess some people find it offensive so now I try use "gosh" instead.

I never SAY that. I may write that, in lieu of something else I would verbally say, that cant be written here!:3dglasses

Same here, except I know that they are offended because it is "taking the Lord's name in vain".
It is a very old habit for me. No one ever told me not to say it growing up. I had no idea it was considered taking the Lord's name in vain. Most of the time I say "Oh my goodness" and when my nephew was little (like 2 and 3) he would follow me around and say "Oh my goodness what, Aunt Bren?" It was so cute. But I had no idea how often I even said that until my nephew became my shadow!

Every time I see OMG, I think of Janice on Friends- "OH! MY! GAWWWD!!!":lmao:

I say OMG a lot- DD says it, too. I have no problem with it, but I think I need to teach her that some people don't like to hear it, especially coming out of an 8 year old's mouth.

**Come to think of it, the phrase I usually use is, "Oh, my Lord!"- usually while rolling my eyes.

I say Oh my God. I know people have problems with me saying that. Well, that's their problem, not mine. There are worse things to say.

Gosh!!!

OMGosh!!! is sometimes how I write it as well...

I mean God and I have no problem saying it. I'm not particularly religious and I'm CERTAINLY not part of any organized religion... to me spiritual beliefs are personal.

I have a few I use...

Mostly, oh my goodness!

Also, oh my gravy!

Rarely, but sometimes, oh my stars!

Lastly, oh my word, Big Bird!
I got that one from years of watching Sesame Street! ;) Only my girls know where I got that one from when I say it.
