When you own at more than one resort...

We have owned at HH since 2001, and just recently purchased BWV and OKW.

My question is...is MS pretty good at executing on using the "right" points? I just made a reservation for a friend for December, and specified that the HH points should be used, because we want to use the BWV points next year at the 11 month window. There is no way to confirm that on the res confirmation we received...just want to know if there's any reason for concern or double-checking. Anyone had a bad experience with this?

I have never had a problem and we own three resorts too. Double check a couple of times while you are making the reservation that they are coming from the right contract.

Every couple of years I do ask MS to fax me a detailed sheet of the activity on our contract just so I can double check everything. While what they send is complicated to figure out, once you do, it is an excellent piece of information that gives you a lot of detail into how things are done.

I have found that they're actually not that good with respect to this. I believe it is always best to know, in advance, how many points you have, in each contract, before, and how many points you should have, in each contract, after, and then be sure to confirm those numbers before you hang up with the MS agent. If the numbers don't match, take the time to go over the numbers, as many times as necessary, until you're sure that both you and the agent share the same understanding.
 
Strongly agree with HBC & bicker. After each transaction with MS, ask for a status of all your points / contracts. If it doesn't agree with yours, it is so much easier to straighten out right then and there!

Were I in your position now, I'd call MS during a less busy time of hte week and ask for a point status to make sure everything is as I expected. FWIW, Monday mornings are very busy - try calling mid-week in the late afternoon. You'll likely find the CMs a little more patient and willing to work with you than if you call when it's really busy.

That is what I do, particularly if I am using points from more than one contract to make a reservation. I know in advance how many points I am using and what I have left. I have MS confirm for me how many points they show I have left in each contract before I hang up the phone.
