When you hear the song "under pressure"

No, but DH does. I'm sad that I had never put the 2 together until we were listening to our Queen CD in the car one day. :sad2: I'm a sad, sad person.

I always think it's Ice Ice Baby until they start singing. :rotfl: I guess since I knew that song first. Also I always think Superfreak is Can't Touch This.

lol, they do sound alike!

No definitely not. Vanilla Lose stole that from Queen, I'm thinking Queen actually won a copyright infringement lawsuit over that as well. Vanilla is such a poser/has been/no talent lucky punk.

I am another one that thinks it's Ice Ice Baby. I actually like that song...ssssshhhhh.

When I read the title of the thread and opened it, I expected this to be a monkeyboy thread. :)

I didn't even KNOW there was a song called "Pressure" until I watched Stepmom. They started playing that song and I thought to myself "Uh, that's weird..." and then someone started singing and it wasn't Vanilla Ice! My first thought was "OMG, did someone sample Ice Ice Baby to make a new song?!":rotfl:

Thats a shame too, 'cause a lot of other people think that and the original Queen version was such a good song.

But I won't cry for Queen, they are richer than Vanilla 100 times over, Queen is one of the richest rock bands of all times. Sold more albums than the Beatles in England, so its not like they're hurting by any means.

::yes::

And I still remember watching the MTV interview with Vanilla Ice at the time, while he was totally denying it - even after they played both songs and it was SO obvious! I heard it was settled out of court and Vanilla had to give Bowie and Queen songwriting credits as well.

MC Hammer did sample Superfreak for "Can't Touch This" but unlike Vanilla Ice, he did license the sample and credit the authors of the music.

Actually, I start thinking to myself "pleasepleaseplease let it be Under Pressure."

Does anyone else remember a parody that was done back when that song first came out? One of the DJs on 96 Rock in Atlanta played it a few times; I don't know if he came up with it on his own or if someone else did and it made its way around to different stations. It went like this --

Vanilla Ice Cream is my name
Stealing songs is not my game
I wrote this
This is my song
If you think I stole this you are so wrong
Here's a sample

And then you hear the opening guitar rift from Satisfaction by the Stones. :lmao: There were more lyrics, but I'm amazed I remember that much.

I actually am the other way around. When I heard Ice Ice Baby I thought it was Queen. Now if I hear that part of the song I hope it is Under Pressure.

I can't believe stations are still playing Vanilla Ice. Word to your mother?

I have "Under Pressure" on my mp3 player. Great song. Timeless. And great video as well.

lol. a couple of years ago there was a show called "Hit me on more time" and Vanilla Ice was on it. He gave himself a harder edge and didn't sound all that bad...I had the tv on vh1 and it was on the 80's & 90's videos and Vanilla Ice came on. My son (who is 15) asked me if everyone wore the big gigantic pants and danced funny, lol. I told him only vanilla ice and MC Hammer..

Cruisin in my 5.0
with the ragtop down so my hair can blow...

hahha...aI'm ashamed I know the words and have been caught on occassion singing it. Ya know, I DO rock a mic like a vandal and wax a chump like a candle...

I have Under Pressure on my Ipod. GREAT song! I really liked when Chris Daughtry sang it at the finale of Idol last year. I think if he'd done that song on Queen night he might've lasted longer.

Yes, but remember, his is different. It goes "ding ding ding da duh ding ding DING." It has that little extra something that he made up in his own mind that sets it apart and prevents him from having to pay royalties.

I'm not even sure if loser-poser-idiot-moron even begins to cover it.

Bowie and Queen are 2 of the greatest artists of all time, IMHO. Their talent and stage presence are hardly matched.

Hmm, let me think...Vanilla Ice vs. David Bowie and Queen?

No contest. I start singing "Under Pressure."
